I own and live in a flat in a converted Victorian pub by the river in Deptford (TfL Zone 2), and I am looking somebody to live with me as a lodger in the second bedroom from late January 2024 on an ongoing basis.
I am a professional person with regular Mon-Fri working hours and am looking for somebody similar. My current lodger and friend is moving out to a new area after 1 year 5 months. I have lived here myself for 4 years 2 months.
I like to think I'm friendly and outgoing, and when not socialising, I spend a lot of my time playing football, running and going to the theatre/gigs and art/museum exhibitions :)
The room is available from Saturday 27th January 2024. Move-in date and initial term length is flexible / negotiable (there has previously typically been a rolling notice period of one month for both parties after the initial fixed term period).
Large double bedroom with double bed, desk and office chair, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table, length mirror and x4 book shelves. The room has two windows facing towards the river, eastwards. Sufficient space to work from home (as proved all through the pandemic!)
Large combined living room / kitchen with TV. Shared bathroom with bath. Washer-dryer, and fortnightly cleaner provided.
The flat is a top-floor flat (two levels above street level) and one of six flats within a beautiful converted Victorian pub building, the 'Princess of Wales'. There is an accessible roof terrace (above the flat) with views of the river, the Shard, Canary Wharf and the Greenwich O2 Arena.
Shared secure courtyard (accessible by keycode) with bicycle storage out back of the property, and shared front terrace. The other occupants of the building are friendly and sociable, without being noisy and respect each others' space.
10-15 mins walk from Deptford Station / High Street and 15-20 mins walk from Greenwich Town Centre (and large Waitrose), New Cross Station / High Street and Surrey Quays Overground Station.
Overall amount per month is £1,000 - this covers rent and share of the bills. We can work out payment arrangements on discussion, but this has typically been payable monthly in advance. The bills part of the payment covers all household costs (management service charge, ground rent, council tax, electricity, heating, internet, water, TV license, fortnightly cleaner).
Deposit is £500 and payment will secure the room.
