Description
Hello!
I'm Izzi and I'm looking for a new housemate in my 2-bed flat, located 5 minutes from both New Cross and Deptford stations. I'm looking for a new housemate who is a professional aged 30+.
In an ideal world I'm hoping to find another woman in the mid-30s age bracket, but this is flexible.
The Room:
A cosy double room in the heart of New Cross / Deptford, in a creative and chill flat.
The room has a small (4ft) double bed with room for storage underneath, ample wardrobe space and a fold-down desk.
I'm open to you making the room your own, so if you're keen to paint, put up pictures, move things around, I'm very happy to chat about this.
Lots of previous housemates have been musicians or creatives - if you're someone who needs to practise music, record self tapes or rehearse for auditions, don't worry, you're more than welcome.
The Flat:
The flat is a 90s build on the ground floor of a quiet apartment building. It's located pretty much inside a park, and next to an even bigger park. There are communal gardens where an old housemate previously had their own mini garden at the front of the building, so green fingered people are welcome.
The street is extremely quiet despite being in Zone 2 and near lots of amenities. We have one very quiet neighbour directly opposite, and the neighbour directly above works abroad frequently and is rarely in, so there's no noise from other members of the building. Guests have often commented that it's the quietest flat they've stayed in within zones 1-2.
2 stations are within 5 minutes walk (both with a 6 minute connection to London Bridge), there's a bus stop from Central London 2 minutes walk away, and Deptford Bridge DLR and New Cross Gate station are also within 10 minutes walk.
Although it's not a party flat and I value down time and tidy surroundings, it's always been a welcoming space - there's a comfy sofa if you want to have friends to stay, and I'm also open to guests sleeping in my room if I'm away.
The rent includes all bills, and you're welcome to access any of the subscriptions on the TV (NowTV, Apple+ and Netflix).
I'm really keen that the flat feels like a home for whoever moves in, regardless of length of stay.
The Area:
Deptford is an amazing place to live, with transport connections to pretty much every London station. It's friendly and has a great community vibe, a fab live music scene and tons of great restaurants and bars. There is also a huge amount of green space, with at least 4-5 decent parks in walking distance.
The Housemate:
I'm the live in landlord and have been in the flat for just over 4 years. I'm 35 (soon to be 36) and run my own company in theatre marketing. I tend to be in the office 4 days a week with some WFH days usually on a Friday.
I like to think I'm a laid back, welcoming and friendly individual and I'm always up for dinner / a chat / a drink locally, but equally respectful of people who need their own space. Both my previous housemates have been actors - my first housemate stayed for 3 years and only moved out to go on a UK tour, and my second housemate was meant to stay for 4 months and has been here for 8.
My last two housemates have been female creatives of a similar age and we've ended up becoming good friends, so I would love to have a similar experience this time around!
I'm looking for someone from May onwards, though timing is flexible for the right person.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
