Hello!
We are 5 professionals looking for a new housemate to share our everyday living with: we have 1 furnished double room available (no pets, no couples, no smoking, sorry).
HOUSE & ROOM
--------------------------
The house has:
- Large garden
- Big living room + dining room
- Big kitchen
- Two bathrooms (1 shower)
The room is furnished.
The price is £385 p/m and doesn't include the bills (that are approx. £100 p/m for gas & electricity, wifi, water, cleaners and housekeeping). When you move in, you'll also pay a deposit (£500).
The room is available now, but we can be flexible on the move in date because we really want to find someone who is a good fit. This rent has to be paid every 9th of the month.
What we are looking for
----------------------------
We‘ve always been very thoughtful when choosing the new members of this household. Some of us have been living here for 5+ years and would therefore like to live with like-minded people: decent, respectful, peaceful, clean and caring human beings.
We are very considerate about cleaning and taking care of ourselves and the house, and sharing the responsibility of things that need to be managed, maintained or fixed. Tasks of the house, like paying bills and dividing expenses or taking out bins are expected to be carried out by all, fairly.
Please do not consider this property if you are not willing to contribute timely, respect rest times, and clean after yourself.
Current members:
----------------------
All professionals working in different fields: content, art/design, project management, admin, currently working from home some days of the week.
It is an open-minded, LGBTQI+ friendly and collaborative household.
Please bear in mind that this is not a party house, but rather the opposite, as we are very conscious that everyone needs time and space to rest and relax (so for example we have agreed on having "quiet hours").
Landlord
----------
The landlord lives nearby and will promptly consider fixes and complaints.
Why is the room so cheap?
-----------------------------------
The reason is that the landlord leaves us the management of the house and that we trust each other.
For this reason, we are looking for a responsible and mature person, able to share the basic values according to which we have kept the peaceful order of the house over the years.
This includes regularly cleaning after yourself, paying bills and housekeeping expenses timely and proactively, being respectful and considerate in the shared spaces as well as in your own room.
So please do not answer this ad if you are not ready to respect some basic but consolidated house sharing rules.
Finally, in order to winnow the applications, we came up with a questionnaire. Any message that does not answer these questions will not be considered.
QUESTIONS
(1) Age
(2) When you can move in and how long you plan on staying
(3) Your current occupation
(4) Languages you can speak (you can include Java, C, etc. as well!)
(5) Your favourite food
(6) Your favourite books (and/or) authors
(7) What you usually do in your free time
(8) In your library, the Bible is classified as (a) religion, (b) fiction, (c) science, or (d)...
(9) Who am I? (see our profile picture)
(10) Why are you moving out / looking for a new home
(11) Your ideal kind of housemates
(12) the 3 most important things you are looking for in your next home
You can write as much as you want. It can be short, or long. Just tell us a little bit about your self.
Thanks!
