Description

Hi,

Double room available in my period flat in East Dulwich, living with two women (me and the lovely Canadian Juliana). I own the flat, but we like a friendly, shared flat vibe.

The flat is over the top two floors of a Victorian building with original features and wooden floors, recently redecorated, and with a big shared garden below. I like making a house a home, not just that pit-stop I think places can sometimes feel like!

The room comes furnished with:
- double bed & bedside table
- full length wardrobe & plenty of drawers
- desk, chair & mirror
- bookcase

We love East Dulwich - it's a ten min stroll to Lordship Lane with all its nice pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops, cinema and North Cross Road Market. Peckham Rye park is at the end of our road, and Peckham Rye overground/rail is a 15-20 min walk or short bus, with lots more restaurants, bars etc.

Bills are £140 on top and cover water, gas, heating, electricity, council tax etc (I sort them all). Also included:

- superfast 500mbps internet package
- c. monthly cleaner for a deeper clean
- dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, juicer, nutribullet etc and plenty of kitchen equipment
- Amazon Echo Show for streaming music, bringing up recipes, all your voice-activated needs!
- Netflix & Disney subscriptions I'm happy to share
- decent piano
- the dining table that expands to 8+ seater for dinner parties
- a PS4 (I don't play these days but it's there to use if you'd like to)
- and a gigantic sofa that's so comfortable it's hard to get out of...

A bit about us:

We're friendly and positive, and relaxed and kind to live with - looking for someone who enjoys that vibe too.

I work writing music (classical music, theatre and film/TV) and from home in my studio. This does mean I play music, so if you need a place with total quiet this wouldn't be for you. But it's in my closed studio and I'm happy to put on headphones at unsociable hours etc - it's never caused problems. At the moment I also teach on the piano for an hour a week during daytime hours. Love music and culture stuff (so creative types are welcome, though definitely not necessary!) These days I also like pottering about round here; play netball, liberal-minded, into theatre, interior design, psychology / general chat.

Juliana works in landscape design in Notting Hill, and outside this says "I'm an easy going gal, I love all the classics - reading, films, cycling, running, and I'd call myself in extroverted introvert. I love a balance of time to myself and a nice chat in the kitchen or pint with housemates."

We're looking for someone in their thirties who's friendly, trustworthy and relaxed. Great if there’s potential to end up friends and it's nice to hang out from time to time or have a little catchup about our days, though we're happy just doing our own thing too. We're easy-going about house stuff (I can be a little scatty myself sometimes!), but we keep any untidiness to our rooms so the rest of the house stays nice, and expect a flatmate to do the same.

Please only message if you're over 30, and include your age and some things about you - getting a sense of who you are is great. Available now.

Cheers!

Becca
