Description
Hello there, potential future housemate! We have a double room available in our lovely, cosy 3-bed house share in leafy East Dulwich and are looking for someone who would be just the right fit into our home which we love very much.
A little about us...We're Sarah (36 F) primary school teacher and Ollie (30M) who is a manager at Dulwich Picture Gallery, and we're looking for a 3rd lovely housemate as Harry is moving in with his girlfriend.
The House
The house is split over 3 floors and has 2 bathrooms and a cute garden out the back that gets a fairly decent amount of summer sunshine. The room available is a double room on the middle floor at the back of the house overlooking the garden so it's nice and quiet (our road is super quiet anyway, but still!) You'll be sharing the bathroom with one other housemate on that floor. The bathroom itself is lovely with a bath and separate shower and is also cosy and warm in winter.
We have a large living room and dining room which is great for hosting dinners. We also keep our bikes here if you have one. We have some books, board games and various house plants decorating the place but there’s still plenty of room for someone bringing their various bits and pieces to make it feel like home. The kitchen is a really good size for more than one person to be cooking dinner and the landlord has recently bought us a new washing machine and 8-hob range cooker.
The relaxed vibe of the house is really important to us, we go out to party and play occasionally on the weekend but we don't bring the party back home out of respect for this being a shared space. Obviously, friends/lovers are welcome around for dinner and drinks etc! Sarah is also vegan and likes to keep some of her kitchenware separate and we’d both prefer living with someone who doesn’t often cook meat.
Boring house admin
We pay gas, electric, internet, council tax bills and for a fortnightly cleaner which in winter comes in at around £140ish each. Though our gas and electric bills were really low in summer so it kind of evens out over the year we find. The house has been pretty good to heat over winter, particularly as the place is double glazed.
The room comes furnished with bed and wardrobe and is available from 1st June, there may be a bit of flexibility on this. We're hoping to do viewings in the week beginning 28th April. If you think you'd be a good fit for our shared home do drop us a message and tell us a bit about yourself!
