Description
We are looking for two people to move into our beautiful modern East Dulwich home!
The rooms are available anytime.
Who you’ll be living with:
Pete (25): Belfast born and raised, marvellous sense of humour, covert marathon runner, emotional maturity far beyond his 25 years, patience of a saint, works in international PR for a company specialising in Sub-Saharan Africa. Fluent in French. He will unload a dishwasher and put everything back in the exact right place. Invaluable in a pub quiz. Soon to be on first name terms with all the local indie book shop owners (and their dogs).
Celeste (31): London born and aggressively middle class; loves a yap and a white wine - will be desperate to feed you. DIY Diva (owns 3 different electric drills). Chaotic but kind; cannot find anything kitchen-utensil related unless she or Pete has emptied the dishwasher. Usually to be found in the garden covered in mud, or up a ladder.
Luke (27): Delicious Aussie expat working in pharmaceuticals and tech. Do not be fooled by the gym bro bod - Luke is smart, inquisitive, caring and has a wonderful sense of humour and fun. He also has a lovely car, for which we are all very grateful. Recently coaxed from the depths of south-west LDN drudgery to East Dulwich and his life has not been the same since. The first Aussie to venture beyond Clapham. A trailblazer.
Who we are looking for:
We are an LGBTQ+ friendly household looking for 2 new housemates to join a calm, respectful but sociable and caring household. Sense of humour is essential, as is fluency in English. We really want housemates that we can be friends with, as we already get on really well - think trips to the pub, cosy wine-filled dinner parties & trips to the many nearby bakeries and cafes. We lived together in a previous house share and really want to make this next one the safe, comfy, happy home we deserve! The tenancy is for 18 months, so our preference is for somebody looking for something longer term, but we are able to offer some flexibility. 6 Months would be about the minimum.
More details about the house & rooms available:
The house came unfurnished but we are already pretty well covered in the communal areas, so as long as you can kit out your bedroom with the basics, you won’t want for much! We have got a beautiful Neptune linen sofa coming over next week which will be ideal for house movie nights and have been given loads of furniture from our neighbours such as a lovely farmhouse wooden dining table.
The house is a Victorian terrace with a few lovely original features, and has been redesigned by an architect to create a minimalist open plan kitchen with gas hob, and separate large living room. There’s tons of natural light. The ground floor also has a guest loo and separate small walk-in laundry space. There are 5 bedrooms, all on the smaller side but more than enough room for a double bed, wardrobe and desk, and they all have lovely big windows and get great natural light. They are in great condition, having been freshly painted, and have really pretty wooden floors. There are 3 bathrooms upstairs, and so you would be sharing with one other person. We also have a bit of extra storage in the cellar and loft eaves.
The house is really well insulated so nice and toasty over winter and bills therefore should be reasonable - they should come to around £100 a month (electric, gas, wifi & council tax). There is underfloor heating and a new boiler, which is a bonus. We have a large garden, lovely terracotta pots and comfy garden furniture, and a little roof terrace off one of the bedrooms which we will be able to enjoy next summer.
Our landlords are a local couple, and are really approachable and friendly - and have already made sure everything is in great working order, and that we feel at home.
The location:
The road is right in the heart of Each Dulwich off North Cross Road (which has a Saturday market), 2 minutes from Lordship Lane, but still quiet at night, and feels really safe.
If you’re not already familiar with East Dulwich, its an incredible area with tons of independent restaurants, pubs, cafes, gyms and boutiques, as well as a local butcher, fishmonger, cheese shop and beautiful greengrocer - as well as an M&S Foodhall, a Co-Op and a big Sainsbury’s - everything you’d ever need basically! East Dulwich train station is a 10-12 minute walk away and there are regular train into The City, and it’s only 15 minutes into London Bridge.
We are also between Peckham Rye and Dulwich Park so lots of outdoor space nearby and some very quick parkruns!
The photos attached are what the house looks like furnished when it was last put on the market. We will add photos of what the property looks like furnished as we finish moving in.
Drop us a message if you would be interested in moving in with us and we can discuss next steps 😊
