Description
Hey there!
After a lush couple of years (and considerably longer for some of the house) one of our housemates is leaving to move in with his partner, so we’re looking for someone to fill this spacious double room!
The room - incredibly spacious with bay windows towards the front of the house, and French doors with access to the garden at the rear (beautiful afternoon and evening light when we’re graced with Spring and Summer!) Comes unfurnished however our current housemate would be happy to discuss leaving some bits (such as the wardrobe, small table, office chair, possibly the sofa).
The house: an enormous Victorian semi split over 3 floors, complete with spacious rooms, high ceilings and character features. We have a double living room with plenty of sofa seating, too many plants, and a TV (sky and literally all of the streaming apps). The other half of the room serves as an extra work space/bike storage. On the lower ground floor is a large kitchen with plenty of counter space for cooking, a dining table that can seat 8 and french doors that open to the garden.
There's a shower room + loo on the upper ground floor and a bathroom with a stunner of a roll top bath upstairs.
The area: we're situated on a quiet, tree lined street just around the corner from East Dulwich station (regular trains take 13 minutes to London Bridge) and several bus routes. Denmark Hill is 5 mins on the bus with easy Overground, Thameslink and route to Victoria (10 mins on the train). Honestly more well connected than any of us expected. Lordship Lane is less than 5 minutes walk away with great pubs, restaurants, independent shops and the Saturday market on North Cross Road. East Dulwich is a great place to live with lots of well maintained parks and a proper villagey vibe.
The housemates work across music/tv & film, the emergency services, transport and property. We have pretty diverse interests and social lives but like to come together for the odd pint down the local, or night in watching trashy tv. We're a friendly bunch mostly thrown together through spareroom, and if you're after a movie night or a post work pint there's nearly always someone up for joining you.
Some of us have a hybrid working set up and one does day + nights shift work (including weekends). It all works pretty smoothly so long as we let each other know plans in advance, so we're looking for someone who is communicative, not a party animal, likes to keep the house tidy, and doesn't mind being bombarded with gifs in the group chat.
Rent does not include bills, but this currently comes to around £100 pp per month including sky tv and broadband.
We've got a good relationship with our landlord and the letting agent, and we all do our best to take care of the place and have always been treated fairly in return - a rarity in the London housing market.
So, if you think you'd be a good fit then give us a shout and tell us a bit about yourself.
**Please note the room is available from 17th Feb but we can can be flexible, so only message if this suits you**
NB: unfortunately no students due to landlord requirement so professionals preferred please.
