Description
I am looking for a new flatmate in this modern 2 bed 2 bath flat in East Finchley! This is a queer friendly home that is an escape from the chaos of the world.
If you interested in this room, first we'll have a quick phone call to chat further. Viewings will take place on Friday 10 Jan or Saturday 11 Jan. .
About the room:
The available room will be unfurnished and can fit a single or a double bed (pictured). There is a small built in closet in the room, and even with a double bed there is room for additional furniture. You would also get a large private bathroom as I have my own. The bathroom is not en-suite but is just a few steps down the hall.
Bills:
Bills are not included. Currently they are:
Council Tax: £81 pp (though this is set to go up to approx £86)
Water: £38pp
Gas/Electric: £62pp (but looking to revise amount where possible):
Wifi (Fiber): £19.25pp
Cleaner: £25pp (for each visit. Prefer to do 1 or 2x a month)
Total: approx £225.25 / month
We could also work out a small amount to contribute towards any shared food items (oils, seasonings, condiments, etc.) and cleaning products OR just take it on a purchase by purchase basis.
Benefits:
I am waiting on confirming regarding these and will update this listing when I know more.
About the flat:
This is a modern flat - the building is less than 15 years old. It is very well insulated and ventilated.
There is a FURNISHED shared lounge with a balcony overlooking a courtyard. There is a separate kitchen with a good amount of storage, a dishwasher and laundry. There is a small fridge in-built under the counter. I have a good amount of dishes/cooking utensils that are available for you to use.
The flat is behind a security gate with fob entry, then 2 additional doors with fob entry before reaching the flat with a keyed entry.
I do currently have my wfh home set up in the lounge as outgoing flatmate worked outside the home. You're welcome to work from home and we can figure out what layout/space works best for us.
Accessibility:
From the security gate to the front door to the building is a short walk along a stone path. Some of the stones are wobbly. There are 2 heavy fire doors inside the building between building entrance and flat door.
There is a lift in the building behind the first fire door. The flat is on the first floor. In the 2 years I have lived there, the lift has never been broken.
Parking:
We have on dedicated parking space in a covered garage. This could be available for you if you have a car.. There is also easy to find street parking for guests.
There is also secure (lockable!) bike storage in the parking garage.
About me:
I’m American - from Nashville, if you know it!. I have worked for 6 years at an arts university. I’m also interested in acting and screenwriting. I’m love film/tv watching, travelling, exploring museums, going to the theatre and finding the best chai latte. One of my lockdown hobbies was punch needling and I keep looking at my pile of yarn and wanting to get back into it.
Also - I’m anti-diet and body neutral / fat positive, so I’m looking for people with the same energy. I’m relearning the joy of movement, so if you like yoga, ballet, swimming or long walks, that’s great too.
I am queer and have ADHD so I'm looking for someone to be cool about both those things!
I work full time, but do work from home on a flexible schedule. (I work standard business hours, but sometimes I'm not in office at all during a week and sometimes I'm in 3 days.)
I'm looking for someone who is a fan of clear and kind communication, whether things are going great or if there's an issue to be resolved.
I like being friendly with flatmates - occasional movie/tv nights or events out but also recognise we each are looking for our own space and have our own lives to live. There is no expectation to hang out every single evening, even if we're both at home.
I keep things generally tidy but also accept that we are people and sometimes there are signs of life around a flat!
If you want to talk more...
Message me with an answer to one of these questions:
1. Which TV/film character was your queer awakening?
2. What was your last abandoned hobby?
3. It’s 10am on a Sunday, what are you doing?
4. You have 24 hours left in London - where are you going?
If you interested in this room, first we'll have a quick phone call to chat further. Viewings will take place on Friday 10 Jan or Saturday 11 Jan. .
