Description
We are 2 professionals in our mid-30’s (nurse and an Accountant in the Civil Service) and have lived in the local area for a number of years and love it here! We actually met on spare room over 8 years ago! As our current housemate is moving out due to personal reasons, we are now looking for a new housemate to join us in the flat.
We both enjoy socialising together (trashy tv, eating out, visiting Hackney Wick for summer drinks etc!) but also respect each other’s own personal space. We are looking for someone who will want to treat the flat like a home rather than just somewhere to sleep, and hopefully will have similar interests to us!
We have one spare room in our spacious 3 bedroom flat. We have an open plan living/dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine. The flat also has a large winter garden which is a lovely space to chill out in! The flat comes with quite a bit of storage and is fully furnished.
The room available is a large double and comes with a double bed, triple wardrobe, 2 bedside cabinets and a chest of drawers. To note, the desk, standing shelve unit and mirror in the pictures are not included and were purchased by the current housemate, but you can always add your own furniture too! The room is a great size and has one large floor-to-ceiling window. The bathroom will shared with one other person.
Living in the flat itself, we are pretty chilled and respectful of each other’s space. We aren’t a party flat but definitely happy for friends to come round for dinner, stay the night etc. We als have a weekly cleaning rota (just to keep the flat in a nice condition).
Our rent is £962 each per month which includes high speed internet. Each September, the rent is likely to increase by CPI (we will find out at some point in July) but we don’t expect this to be much (and the rent didn’t go up last year either despite CPI being fairly high). The bills are currently averaging about £130-140 each per month. We rent with Get Living and no deposits are generally required which is great! Get Living will undertake standard reference checks as part of the renting process and applicants will need to earn c.£35k minimum income to pass the finance checks. Please note that the room is available from the 22nd July (this is the date that we pay our rent each month).
The East Village area is very sociable and there are lots of events/activities to do all year round (including the Olympic Park, Hackney Wick, and the Canal). Our flat is about a 5 minute walk to Westfield. Stratford tube station is 8-10 minutes walk with the Central, Jubilee, DLR, Overground, Elizabeth line, and national rail links.
If you like the look of the flat (and us!!) and are interested, drop us a message and we would be happy to answer any questions that you have and arrange a viewing.
We look forward to hearing from you!
