Description

The short version:

A double room, plus the main bathroom to yourself, in a top-floor 2-bed flat in East Village, Stratford, E20. (Also included: one flatmate. 👋)

==========

The long version…

I’ll be upfront: I’d guess there are bigger rooms and flats out there. But if you might have some leeway on that, let me try and sell you on this one:

- ✅ The main bathroom is all yours,
- ✅ This is a top-floor flat, along with only one other, in a pedestrianised area - you won’t be disturbed!
- ✅ Great living room balcony view overlooking Victory Park - plus a separate roof terrace accessible from your room,
- ✅ Space and connections in your room for a (compact, but still double-monitor) desk setup,
- ✅ Air conditioning in the shared living area (only a handful of East Village flats have this).

Plus, every East Village flat gets you:

- ✅ Fast (up to 1Gb) and reliable internet, via Hyperoptic,
- ✅ Secure, sheltered bike storage in the underground residents’ car parks,
- ✅ Landlords (Get Living) that are very responsive to maintenance requests,
- ✅ A bunch of great indie food places and shops on your doorstep,
- ✅ A 2-minute walk to Stratford International station (DLR, National Rail, including to St Pancras in 6 minutes) - and to Westfield, and to the Olympic Park,
- ✅ Less than 10 minutes to Stratford station (Central, Elizabeth, Jubilee, Mildmay, DLR, National Rail).

You’d be moving in with me: Rob. 👋 I’m a designer at a London tech company you’ve probably heard of, aged 34 - and I’ve lived in East Village nearly 12 years with no plans to leave.

I’m looking for a pretty quiet life instead of a party flat, and I like doing my own thing - but I don’t think I’m bad company, either. Hobbies are pretty standard: exploring the city, relaxing with a game/book/TV show, being a gym amateur, and - for some reason - go-karting and theme parks. Major bonus points if you’re into those kinds of things as well.

Lastly, all the fine print:

- Bills are an extra ~£170/month. No deposit required.
- This is an LGBT-friendly flat. If you’re not an LGBT-friendly flatmate, don’t apply.
- No couples, no pets, sorry - I just don’t think there’s enough space!
- Everything’s furnished.
- Rent rises every August with CPI or inflation, and with a new tenancy in August 2026.
- You’d need to pass Get Living’s eligibility criteria and referencing process. Officially, they’ll allow a move-in on the 28th of any month - but if need be, I’d be open to discussing that once the contract’s signed.

Thanks for looking! If this might be your thing, drop me a message, tell me about yourself, and we can go from there.
