Description
My good friend of 14 years is flying (quite literally) the nest as she prepares for an exciting move abroad, and so I'm looking for someone to take her room on the. tenancy. We signed a 3-year lease in January 2025 with Get Living in Elephant Central, so you'd be replacing her directly on the lease. We can swap named tenants out in that time, and can enact the break clause so it's not a 'trap' but just gives a bit of security and stability :)
The flat is above the Sainsbury's with the building entrance on Elephant Road. There's 24h security on site, a day-time concierge, Bring Me lockers (for secure parcels deliveries) in reception, a co-working floor with lounge, kitchen and a roof terrace in the floor below us, and bike storage (and separate paid-for car parking) in the basement - so it has convenience in abundance.
The flat is furnished, and as we've been here a year and I'm obviously staying, it's also lived in - so no need to worry about bringing anything unless you want to (I'm talking cups, cutlery, lamps, spare towels etc.). The bedroom has a UK King bed, triple-door wardrobe, 5-drawer chest and a dressing table/desk setup.
As well as me, you'll be sharing with my 2 3-legged adoptees - Hunter and Felix. If you're allergic to cats this probably isn't the place for you... Saying that, you'll probably never see Hunter (tabby) unless I'm home because he hides away in my room unless I'm around, and whilst I'm convinced Felix (ginger) was a dog in his previous life and enjoys meeting people, I'm still his favourite, ha.
As for me, I own a couple of coffee shops in East London which keep me pretty busy. We have a pretty decent Rocket espresso machine in the flat if you're a coffee fan, and pastries have been known to find their way into the flat for a breakfast treat. My sleeping routine is a little sporadic - not because I'm painting the town red, but in a hyper-focus 'must redesign the menus and buy a new internet domain at 3am' mode.
I've always lived in sociable flats - my friends are your friends kinda vibe. Doesn't mean it's a party flat unless your kinda parties involve cheese and wine binging on a boxset or catching up on The Traitors, RATW or Taskmaster.
The 3-year tenancy agreement with Get Living started on the 20th January 2025 so there will be an inflation-linked rent increase on the anniversary. You’d need to commit to a minimum of 3 months but they’re flexible with changing names tenants (subject to referencing checks and minimum annual income requirement of around £43-44k).
I currently pay the bills and we just have a running split on Monzo which is settled each month. Typically it works out to around £165-170 a month each:
- Council tax (Band E - £192)
- Electricity (c£40)
- Water (c£30)
- Hot water/heating (c£35)
- TV Licence (£15)
- Netflix (£19)
Ezzy is taking her Apple TV and Amazon Prime accounts, so bonus points if you come with those in hand 😅
Move date can be flexible and definitely more keen on living in a 'home' than a 'flat share' - I was in my old place for 7.5 years and don't want to go through the moving experience again any time soon!
Happy to answer any questions or arrange viewings over the coming weeks :)
