Double Room in Friendly House

We’re looking for another student (for council tax reasons) to join our lovely shared house in SE1–easy access to Elephant and Castle and Borough stations. Everyone currently living here is a PhD student, mostly in STEM subjects—though everyone is welcome—and from a mix of countries including the UK, Spain, and Mexico. While postgrads/PhD students are preferred, undergraduates are absolutely welcome if you feel you’d have a compatible routine.

The room:

Fully furnished: bed & mattress, wardrobe, desk, office chair, and extra storage space

Bright and comfortable

Access via a flight of stairs

The house:

Shared kitchen with all appliances, including a washing machine and a dishwasher

Shared facilities include a large bathroom with toilet, separate shower room, and an extra separate toilet—everyone has slightly different schedules and it never gets busy

Lovely garden with a BBQ (which can be used for smoking)

Everyone is very chill, friendly, and considerate

We occasionally have drinks in the living room or chats in the kitchen, but mostly everyone is busy with their own work and very respectful of each other’s space

Location:

SE1, very central

Excellent transport links: constant buses minutes away from the house

Easy access to Elephant & Castle, Borough, New Cross, Bermondsey stations

Right next to a Tesco superstore

Close to Burgess Park, Peckham, and New Cross (great pubs, cinemas, restaurants, etc.)

Old Kent Road is nearby with lots of food options

Practical details:

Rent: £715 per month

Bills: around £50 per month

Move-in date: The rent is payable on the first of every month, but there’s flexibility (particularly if you would like to move in sooner) as I’m moving in with a friend — happy to discuss depending on what you’re looking for
