Description
The room is £890pcm, with monthly bills approximately £150pcm, including a fortnightly cleaner, insurance, and high-speed internet.
We’re an open-minded, queer-friendly household in our 8th year at this house. It’s a relaxed and cozy 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom space with a large kitchen, spacious living areas, a private garden, and a sunny balcony.
Our household includes:
• Bane (English, pan, cis-male): A cat dad, who happens to be a creative multitasker in events, arts and entertainment.
• Jean (French, gay cis-male): A fun-loving “French cliché” (minus the cooking skills), working front-of-house during the week.
• Fritz (the star of the household), our friendly independent, 9-year-old neutered Tabby cat.
Our current housemate will be moving back to Ireland shortly and we're keen to find someone to replace him on the lease. We appreciate mutual respect and good humour around the home; but oppressive, prejudice, negative and intolerant attitudes won't be welcome.
We’re an adult household, we work hard, enjoy ourselves, like to be active and social, strive to be healthier, and ultimately want someone on the same level to us - we’re not looking for the chaos of a constant party household. We do hang out, have film nights, play board/card games, or some Mario Kart / Party action on the Switch.
We keep the place tidy, try look after the garden spaces and do our bit, but get a cleaner in every few weeks to take the pressure off.
The Room:
4.1m x 2.7m, is rear facing on the first floor, overlooking the garden. The departing housemate currently has the room furnished with a black faux leather ottoman king bed and ample storage units and railing, tv unit and tv, which he's offering to sell on to the next tenant if required.
The House:
We live in a 2-level maisonette on the ground and first floor of the building. We have our own private garden, entry and rear garden, with secure side gate entry. All the rooms are of a good size; with plants throughout (of varying success)
• Entry/hallway.
• Shower Room/WC - with a large enclosure shower, awaiting a repaint from our agents.
• Huge lounge/dining area - with dining room table and chairs, as well as L-shaped sofa, home cinema/surround sound, Nintendo Switch dock, hue lighting and plenty of room for bike storage.
• Kitchen - Well fitted with lots of cupboard space and new appliances, fridge/freezer, gas hob, fan assisted oven/grill, air fryer, health grill (meat use), sodastream (gas subscription optional), microwave oven, kettle, Nespresso, dishwasher and washing machine.
• Bathroom/WC - large bathroom with bath and wash area.
• Balcony - small balcony/sun trap facing the front of the house, with a couple of chairs and net to stop birds invading.
The Area:
We are set back away from the main road, on the rear corner of a crescent, with green space around the rear, side and in front of the property, parks nearby and New River Walk 2 roads back, for ducks, koi and turtles. We are well situated to lots of bars, pubs, restaurants and cinemas, as well as having a Tesco and Sainsbury's within a few minutes walk.
Travel Connections:
• 5 mins walk to Essex Road (national rail).
• 10 mins walk to Canonbury (Overground) or Highbury & Islington (Overground/Underground).
• 15 mins walk to Angel (Underground).
• 20+ mins walk to Old Street and Dalston.
• Served by bus routes: 38, 56, 73, 271, 341, 476.
• Reasonably priced parking permits available in the area.
If this sounds right for you, or you have any questions, please get in touch.
