Description

Hello new friend/s :)

There is a very large room now available in the apartment I rent in Finchley North London, move in date by end of May but some flexibility if needed. It’s a very decent 2 bed apartment (I’m in the second room) and is also available to couples.

It has a huge carpeted living space and dining area (makes such a big difference and is away from the bedrooms) whilst the room itself has loads of inbuilt storage and plenty of space too. The landlord has proven to be very reasonable so far, the house is in good condition, recently painted and furnished (new bed and mattress, desk, bedside table in the bedroom; dining table, chairs, 2 sofas in the living room etc), washer dryer etc but there will be things needed ie cooking equipment or to decorate a bit. On the third floor but with a lift and neighbours that are lovely and not the drama type.

Sadly the current tenants I'm sharing with (a gay couple) have broken up and both decided to move out to give them the closure they need. It's a rare treat in London and I don't want to find myself forced to move out too, but need someone to join/start a new contract with. Appreciate the cost is high, but given the size and space it doesn't feel too bad, I'm also totally OK with and perhaps even preferred with a new couple taking it too.

It is located a few minutes walk from Finchley Central tube station, is a good safe and quiet area. By Northern Line we are 20 minutes from Soho with plenty of trains and the night tube is in operation here too making it easy to get out and about. Amazing Persian and Turkish restaurants in the area, lovely pubs, some gardens nearby and a large Tesco for groceries all close by. The pricing is being finalised at around £1000pcm exc bills/tax band D but there is some wiggle room - if you're a couple I'd prefer the rent to be at £1100 which is the current situation. The landlord is looking for us to sign a 12 month contract, but with name changes and break clauses included.

I have lived in great house shares for over 15 years (making close friends, weekend trips together etc) but still enjoy a decent social life and find myself out on quite a few evenings, enjoy theatre, restaurants, weekends away and cooking/hosting the occasional dinner party (which you are welcome to join) and frequently get cheap last minute tickets to things to share too. I have an office role and WFH 1 or 2 days a week. In my spare time I also volunteer organise a music festival which is start of June so that's just great timing haha. I am very relaxed, easy to live with and like to keep a tidy place that feels relaxing to come home to and feel distracted by a glass of wine in the evening. Lastly would be looking for someone that is non judgemental and understands others can be on the LGBT alphabet. Most important though is that we could consider ourselves to be friends even though we live our own lives, so I'd be very keen to have a good conversation to get to know each other. My current housemates are also open to a call so you can find out what it’s been like to live with me – we also didn’t know each other before moving in.

Please share, tell your friends and ask questions, it took me about a year to find this place and finally relocate to London in October after growing up in Cambridge and spending 10 years travelling back and forth so I’m really keen not to lose out on it and have to start afresh myself.

I've upgraded my account so whether you've paid or not, you should be able to go up and hit the message button to come and say hello :) Look forward to chatting!
