Description

Like many other Londoners, coronavirus has meant my work situation has completely changed and I'm sad to have to find a new housemate for my lovely room.

We're hoping to do online viewings/chats first at this stage for obvious reasons!

THE HOUSE/ROOM
The house is a lovely detatched, three-storey Victorian building, with a garden round the back and covered outdoor storage for bikes (and BBQ!). There’s a big kitchen with two cookers, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. A living room with TV, an old out of tune piano and French doors onto a patio and the garden. There are also three bathrooms, one on each floor so normally no waiting in the morning! The room is a furnished double (though I am flexible about what this means - the bed is mine and I wouldn't mind taking it!). It is bright and has lots of storage. As I'm not currently in London the photos are from the previous flatmate - the room now has sparkly new sash windows and a slightly different layout (which you can change of course!).

LOCATION
The house has amazingly good transport links: a 5 minute walk from Finsbury Park Station, on the Victoria Line, Piccadilly Line, and national rail (20 minutes door to door). We’re also less than 100m from the main entrance to the lovely big green Finsbury Park and not far from Clissold Park too. Lots of shops and cafes also very close, including a Lidl.

OTHER HOUSEMATES
You’d be sharing with 6 others, we have had a mix of 3 males and 4 females and it's worked well. All gender identities and orientations welcome. Six sounded a lot before I moved in, but it has been great and never felt too crowded - the shared spaces are so large and the house atmosphere is lovely and friendly. At the moment three housemates are in the house and we are all keeping each other updated on when the rest of the house is likely to be back. We don’t have big parties but we do spend some evenings playing board games, watching a film or sometimes going to the pub. Everyone is very friendly and it is definitely more of a big family house-share than anything else (although obviously personal time/space is respected!)

COST
The room is a steal for the area at £595 and this normally gets paid in three installments. Bills about £80 on top. I have signed the contract up until the end of August and can be a bit flexible about move-in date. Ideally I'd like to find someone to take the room soon to take over the rest of the 3 month contract, but we'd hope you might love it so much and stay on longer and start a new contract. We're flexible though so feel free to message with your situation and we can try and make it work - it's an odd time. We deal directly with the landlord which makes things much easier than via an agency.

Look forward to hearing from you!
