Description
Sadly, three of my housemates are moving back to Australia, so we’ve got two rooms coming up in our lovely top-floor flat in Finsbury Park. I've hopefully covered most of the major points below but feel free to get in contact with questions 😊
📌 Location:
- Super convenient location just a 5-mins walk away from Finsbury Park station (Victoria & Piccadilly lines, Thameslink, and National Rail)
- Heaps of green space to choose from, including: Finsbury Park, Clissold Park, Parkland Walk, Gillespie Park, and Highbury Fields just up the hill.
- On the border of Islington/Hackney/Haringey, with great bus, overground, and bike connections.
- Lots of grocery options ranging in price (Lidl, Planet Organic, Tesco, Sainsbury's), great food and coffee spots, and nice community vibes.
🏡 The Flat:
- Top floor (3rd) with a lift and stairs. There is a slight step up into the building and at the lift, which unfortunately means it is not wheelchair accessible.
- Bright and spacious with lovely views of Finsbury Park. The flat runs the length of the building, so every room has a wall of windows that lets in natural light all day (even through the winter)🌞
- Big shared living room and dining room with comfy couches and plants that (mostly) live year-round.
- Shared bathroom (shower and bath in one) between rooms 1 & 2.
- Fully equipped kitchen and furnishings all throughout (incl. dishwasher, washing machine & dryer, central heating etc.)
Lots of storage with an external shed in the building stairwell, which has been great for inside bike storage
- 🛏️ Room 1: Cosy, light-filled space, currently furnished with a double bed, a small set of drawers, and a cupboard. Unfortunately, there isn't much space for a desk, so it's not a great room to work from home, but it has been a great option for our physio flatmate.
- 🛏️ Room 2: Huge, light-filled space, currently furnished with a double bed, bedside tables, lots of wardrobe space, a desk, and multiple shelves. Perfect space for a couple.
📅 Dates / Contract:
- Room 1 is available from 1st December.
- Room 2 is available from 13th December.
- The current lease runs until the end of August 2026, with an option to extend (don’t think they have ever denied an extension in this flat).
- Listed deposit assumes a couple will move into Room 2, can readjust if a single person moves in.
- Council Tax Band D
💁♂️ Who you would be living with:
- Bec, 25yo Aussie working in social policy for London local government. I'm fairly flexible with my work schedule, normally in the office 3 days a week or working from a café in my ongoing search to find a coffee that tastes like home.
- Based on the past summer, I'm normally out for a swim or lying in the park with a book, grabbing a drink with friends or embarrassing myself at work karaoke.
- An arts & crafts girl still trying to afford hobbies in this expensive city, but I'm good about keeping projects to my room.
- Love the friendly and communal vibe of the house so far, who enjoys the occasional flat movie night, coffee walk, shared dinner - but also get when we all need some alone time.
✨Hopefully a bit about you..
- Someone who also enjoys a communal household (e. g. house dinners, fun trips to the pub, potentially some new hiking buddies?) whilst also respecting downtime after a long day.
- It would be great to also keep our cleaning roster alive in this new era, as it has been a pretty chill way to keep on top of a fairly big space, also subsidised by regular tidying when needed.
