Description
Hi folks!
We will have a double room available in our bright and spacious flat from mid December (exact date to be discussed but likely around 14 Dec), as our flatmate Marloes is sadly leaving us after almost 4 years because she's buying a flat.
About the flat:
The flat is in a Victorian terraced house on a quiet street just around the corner from Clissold Park, Woodberry Wetlands, and Finsbury Park. Finsbury Park station is about a 10 minute walk, and Manor House station is about a 5 minute walk. There are plenty of shops & supermarkets around, and the fancy boutiques of Stoke Newington are just a 15 min walk away.
The flat is modern with a large open-plan living room/kitchen and also loads of outside space - we have both a terrace and a (concrete) garden.
You'd be moving in with:
- Marianne (she/her, 29, from Brighton)
Works as a Scientist in a company just outside of London. She likes going for a run in Clissold Park, grabbing a local coffee at Brewed at the weekends, and cooking vegan/veggie meals. She’s also recently started playing football — anyone want to join for a kick-about?
- Nathan (He/him, 28, Australian)
Works all around London in construction. Enjoys all the usual perks of living in this city, attending live events, trying new restaurants, travelling with mates and wondering where all his cash has gone! Also loves his downtime, loitering around with his camera, reading, cooking and sometimes even knitting.
- Niamh (she/her, 32, New Zealand)
Is also brand new to the household as she will be moving in early December! She works as a landscape architect in the city centre, has recently gotten into pottery, and likes to help out in the Hackney community garden when she can. Loves going to gigs and shows, and pottering around charity shops.
We all work varying schedules, so generally during weekday nights the house is pretty chill, usually with someone around to watch a film/show. On the weekends we're often out and about, but we also have friends over for dinner occasionally - always with the invitation to join! We’re a fairly social house and we all get on, but have our own lives and do our own thing as well.
About the room:
The room is spacious and gets good light through the (double-glazed) windows right near to the bed. It comes furnished with a bed, two wardrobes, bedside table and some wall mounted shelves. There is plenty of space for a desk so ideal for anyone looking to work from home.
The boring bits:
Rent is £776 per calendar month (bills not included, about £95 per month). We also have a wonderful weekly cleaner who we take turns paying (works out to about £35 each per month).
The room will be free from mid December, exact move in date to be discussed.
We have a contract with a lovely, responsive private landlord. Your name will be on the contract which you will sign when you move in. We are only interested in people looking for a long term place to live. We require a month's rent and bills up front to hold the room, no deposit required.
About you:
We're looking for a considerate housemate, who cleans up after themselves and will respect the house we all love to live in and call our home! We're open to any (or neither!) gender, but would prefer someone roughly between the ages of 25-39 to fit in with the current housemates.
It would be great to find someone who we can get on with, who wants to join for movie nights, house dinners or barbecues in the summer, but also has their own things going on.
Viewing dates (exact timings TBC):
Wed 3 Dec - evening
More date TBC
If interested:
Please send a message with some info about yourself, and any questions you may have. In your message please include your preferred viewing date plus contact number so we can message you directly to invite you for a viewing.
We hope to hear from you soon!
Marianne, Nathan & Niamh
P. S. Please ignore the blurriness of the garden pics (they're the only ones we have of summer)!
