Description
Hi there!
Our current lodger is moving out (after living with us for 2.5 years) so we are looking for a new occupant for the SPACIOUS, FURNISHED DOUBLE ROOM, with own BATHROOM (adjacent to it) on the top floor of our beautiful Victorian family home.
We are a friendly, creative household and have enjoyed having 3 lodgers share the space with us and our 2 cats, over several years.
Although it is a family home, the 'kids' are all grown up (all in their twenties). Two have boomeranged back, though my oldest is planning to move out in the new year. So, living here will suit you if you want to live independently, but also like the idea of somewhere that feels like a home, with other young adults around.
We have found that the best fit for us is a young professional or student, who is independent and happy to live in a family home. with a young vibe.
More about the room:
The loft room has loads of character! It has stripped wooden floors and a cast iron decorative fireplace (every room in the house has a fireplace!) . It also has a window alcove, which houses a dressing table, but could have a desk and chair if needed.
The room is furnished with:
- a gorgeous, antique-style, cream and brass standad double bed
with under-bed storage and bedside table
- good storage: in the form of:
- a large pine wardrobe with hanging space and large drawer
- chest of drawers
- a low, two door, red storage unit
- antique dressing table with drawers
- bookshelf
The room has a good sized bathroom adjacent to the room, with a bath, with in bath shower attachment (for in bath shower/hair wash) toilet and washbasin. There is also a foldable clothes drying rail and laundry basket.
Our lodgers have the use of our well equipped and huge double kitchen, with large farmhouse table facing out to the 100 foot garden. This is the main communal area and where we tend to hang out if spending time together. Each lodger has their own space in the fridge, some shelf space in the freezer and some cupboard and vegetable trolley space. The utility room (off the kitchen) has a microwave and washing machine and drier. We have a family lounge area above the kitchen.
In terms of location, our beautiful Victorian house is situated in a quiet street in Stroud Green, near Finsbury Park, N4.
There are good transport links: Finsbury Park is a 5 minute bus ride (or 10 minute walk or so) away in one direction - for easy access to National Rail links and the Victoria and Piccadilly line. There's Haringey overground in the other direction, for quick links to the city. Crouch Hill offers further rail links.
A bit about the area:
Stroud Green sits between Finsbury Park and the 'village' of Crouch End. Stroud Green road offers a variety of food shopping lovely cafes and eating haunts. Whether you need wigs or hair extensions, organic food supplies, good coffee or to pick up a quirky gift or just regular food supplies, you'll find it on Stroud Green Rd!
Crouch End is a short walk or bus ride away and also offers interesting shops, cafes and eateries, as well as some really good charity shops, if that's your thing. There are also several gyms and a swimming pool in Crouch End and 2 cinemas. We even have our own local theatre, The Park theatre, a stones throw from Finsbury Park tube.
The nitty gritty: Rent is £950pcm (plus a £950 deposit). This includes all bills and the broadband link.
The room offered is for SINGLE OCCUPANCY only. I would be happy to accommodate either a full time (7 days) or a Mon-Fri let. The room is available from 30 November.
To arrange a viewing, email me and tell me a little about yourself and what you're looking for. We can then arrange an initial telephone chat to see if there might be a fit, before meeting in person.
I look forward to hearing from you!
