Two Furnished Rooms in a Warm, Creative Home

We’re offering two furnished rooms in our warm, creative East London home. You’re welcome to apply individually for either room, together with another person for one room each, or as a couple renting both rooms and using one as a bedroom and the other as a private office.

Lodgers share the kitchen, garden and first-floor communal spaces. This is a lived-in home with books, art, plants and plenty of personality, and we’re looking for people who will enjoy it with the same spirit of care and attentiveness.

The house is a two-minute walk from Wanstead Flats, part of Epping Forest, offering wonderful access to open green space and nature.

We’re Neelu, an independent filmmaker and web designer, and Andrew, a Master’s student in Data Science. We’ll be spending significant periods in New York, returning to London periodically. One bedroom remains ours, and another is occasionally used by visiting family and close friends. Our family friend and house manager, Anjali, will also be living here from October through the end of January.

The house will suit independent working professionals with settled routines who appreciate a calm, considerate and well-cared-for home. We keep quiet hours from 10pm to 8am and share responsibility for weekly cleaning of the communal areas. When we’re away, we may occasionally ask for help with simple household tasks such as bringing in the post or putting out the bins.

Occasional visits from one or two guests are welcome with advance notice, but the house is not suitable for parties or regular professional meetings. Working from home is welcome. The house is smoke-free and pet-free, and recreational or illegal drug use is not permitted.

Each resident will sign a lodger agreement and inventory. Before confirming the rooms, we’ll arrange a video call to get to know one another, answer questions on both sides and make sure the household feels like a good mutual fit. We’ll also request proof of identity and income or employment, together with references.
