Description
We are Anna, Hugh, Leo (5) and Bernie (3) looking for a friendly lodger to live in our home.
You get the whole top floor, which includes a double bedroom with adjoining study / sitting room, and en suite bathroom.
You would share our large family kitchen downstairs, as well as the garden.
Ours is a family home and ideally we'd like to share it with someone who sees a homely environment as a real benefit. Hugh and I have lived with lodgers since we've been together, so we are relaxed about sharing our space. Our last lodger has been with us for 2 and a half years and is now moving just a short way down the road.
Obviously any lodger will need to be happy around little people... Leo is 5 years old and Bernie is 3. For us the ideal lodger would be comfortable and easy around kids - this is kind of a priority so we can all relax and get along.
How we share space would I'm sure depend on how we settle in together - but we anticipate that you will for the most part want to keep your routine quietly separate from our own. We'd prefer you didn't cook upstairs, there is lots of room in the kitchen for us all to find our space. At the end of the day it's a family house so please consider whether we're right for you, as we will you for us.
Happy to consider Monday-Friday lets if that suits. We have an interest in practicing our Spanish so Spanish-speakers particularly encouraged.
Worth saying as well that if you have some experience or affinity with kids we would be happy to come to some arrangement for occasional babysitting in return for either a cut in rent or cash in hand, if that's of interest.
Forest Hill life is certainly busy and varied - we are right round the corner from the Library and Forest Hill Pools, and there's lots of shops, pubs and bars nearby, as well as plenty of green space. Ours is real community road and the neighbours are good folk all round.
NB: These pics are still from the property brochure (I keep meaning to take new ones!) - some of the cosmetic decor / furniture has changed. Our outgoing lodger has been with us for 2 and a half years and we intend to give the rooms a little spruce after she has left so it will hopefully be looking good and fresh by the time you arrive.
Please note as a safeguarding precaution we would ask any adult coming to live in our home with our kids to undergo a basic-level DBS check, and we're happy to pay for this.
Happy to arrange interviews / tours by video.
