THE FLAT
My housemate is moving out, so our lovely double bedroom is becoming available from 24th August.
The apartment is a spacious, modern and quiet 2-bedroom new-build. One of its biggest perks is the massive balcony off the living room, which gets loads of sunlight throughout the day. On the other side of the apartment, the bedroom windows overlook the canal, with ducks and geese regularly passing by. It’s a surprisingly peaceful and refreshing view for London.
The apartment is well equipped and comfortable, with modern fixtures and fittings. It also stays lovely and warm during the winter. There is a large, functional bathroom, and the room comes furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and curtains, so you’d just need to bring your own things.
LOCATION
The location is genuinely one of my favourite things about the flat. It’s in a peaceful and residential part of Greenwich, while being incredibly convenient for transport, shops and everything you might need day-to-day.
* 2–5 minute walk to Deptford Bridge DLR
* ~5 minute walk to Greenwich station
* Tesco Express and Co-op ~100m away
* Deptford High Street ~5 minutes away, with loads of independent shops, cafés, restaurants and bars
* Greenwich town centre and Greenwich Park ~10 minutes away
There are also plenty of local butchers, fishmongers, cafés, bars and independent shops nearby. The area is culturally rich and has a great mix of communities, food and places to explore.
THE BUILDING
The building itself is very secure. It is set back from the main road and accessed through a securely locked residents' gate, with neighbourhood watch in the area.
Other practical perks include:
* Residents-only car park with a lovely green garden and mature trees
* Dedicated cycle storage, particularly useful as I cycle quite often
* Well-organised waste/recycling room
* Amazon Locker in the entrance
* Secure indoor area for courier deliveries
* 24-hour CCTV covering the secure parcel area
ABOUT ME
I’m 27 and work as a consultant in the energy industry. I work from home around two days a week and spend the rest of my time between the office and my social life.
For me, home is my sacred place to rest, recharge, cook, relax and watch movies, so I really value having a peaceful and comfortable environment.
I’m quite social and curious, have a good group of friends and enjoy going out for good food and wine, particularly at weekends. I occasionally host a dinner or have a couple of friends over for drinks - perhaps once every couple of weeks - but this is definitely not a party house.
At the same time, there’s absolutely no issue with you having friends over and socialising at home. I’m not strict about that at all - I just like the flat to remain a nice, comfortable and respectful place for both of us.
I also occasionally practise the clarinet. I’m not exactly great at it yet 😄, but I only play during reasonable daytime hours!
WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR
I’m quite particular about keeping the flat clean, fresh and organised - no shoes indoors, regular hoovering, no dishes on the sink etc. - so I’d really like to find someone who naturally shares that mindset/values and is happy to contribute to keeping the home nice.
Ideally, you’ll be friendly, open-minded, considerate and sociable, with an active lifestyle of your own. A young professional or Master's student would probably be a good fit, but personality and compatibility matter much more to me.
If it sounds like it could be a good fit, feel free to message me with a little bit about yourself and what you’re looking for :)
