We're looking for a friendly, working professional flatmate to join our home as our current flatmate is sadly moving out.

About the Flat & Room:

Our flat is located in a prime spot on the pedestrianised part of Mare Street, just seconds from Hackney Central and Hackney Downs overground stations. You’ll be within walking distance of Boots, Marks & Spencer, various cafes, bars, and pubs, plus a post office. Tesco and Lidl are just around the corner, and iconic spots like London Fields, Broadway Market, Columbia Flower Market, and Victoria Park are all within easy reach. Shoreditch High Street is only 30 minutes on foot or 5 minutes on the overground.

The flat boasts a spacious, open-plan living room and kitchen area with a breakfast bar, ideal for hanging out, hosting friends, or enjoying a relaxed evening in. We also have an unofficial roof terrace/outdoor space that we love using, especially in the warmer months.

The room itself is a comfortable double and comes unfurnished except for a bed frame and mattress. We also have a rail, lamp, desk, and a few other small items you’re welcome to use. The room features a built-in wardrobe, under-bed drawers, and a generous storage cupboard just outside. There’s plenty of space for a double bed, wardrobe, and desk.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The room has a small damp issue in one corner, which the agency has promised to address for the new tenant (although it might not be resolved before viewings). We recommend using a dehumidifier in winter as a precaution.

About Us:

We’re Emily (31) and Moises (29), a couple who met while studying our MA in Biodesign. We were friends first, so we’re not into public displays of affection, and we’re looking for someone who’s interested in living with us as a friend, not a third wheel!

After 3 years with us, our lovely ex-flatmate has bought his own place with his boyfriend, so we’re looking for someone to fill his spot.

We’re a sociable pair who enjoy hanging out, cooking, watching movies, going on walks, and just generally doing fun things with our flatmates. That said, we also value privacy and respect each other’s space. Moises is from Colombia and works in local sustainability. He loves music (singing in the shower is a must!) and plays the piano. Emily is a Colourist for a fashion trend consultancy, and she studied textile design in Leeds before moving to London.

We also dog-sit and walk pets as we love animals but can’t have one ourselves right now. We have regular dogs that we care for either weekly or throughout the year. While you won’t be responsible for them, it’s important that you’re comfortable being around dogs as they bring us a lot of joy—and sometimes extra income!

What We’re Looking For:

We’d love to find a flatmate who’s happy to socialize and spend time in the shared spaces, whether that’s sharing meals, chatting, or enjoying a few glasses of wine in the evenings. At the same time, we respect each other’s privacy and understand that we all work from home at times.
We’re seeking someone who is clean, tidy, and considerate, particularly when it comes to cleaning up after cooking and keeping the shared areas nice. We value a harmonious living environment and ask that you respect the house and our belongings.
