Double room in a sunny 2-bed Hackney Wick flat

Hi, I'm Josh. Looking for someone to join me in this lovely apartment in Hackey Wick. I've got a double room free from start of August. Viewings this weekend!

The room: a good-sized double with a wardrobe and chest of drawers. Not in photo, but there is a new mattress, simple clothes hanging unit, and small table and chair available to the person who moves (if wanted).

Room dimensions: 3m x 3.5m with a taper at the window end.

The flat: bright living room with a Juliette balcony that gets nice morning sun, and off-street parking, which is rare for round here. There's a desk set up in the living room. I work from home 1-2 days a week and happy to coordinate days so we can both use it.

The area: The canal and all its great bars and eateries are 5 mins away, plus Victoria Park and its markets, swimming at the Aquatics Centre, and walks along the marshes. Hackney Wick station is a 10 min walk (one stop to Stratford) and there's a bus stop right outside the flat with good routes to Stratford, London Bridge and central London.

Costs: rent is £1,000 pcm. Council tax is £153/month (Band C) and bills (water, gas, electric, internet) average £165, so split that's about £160 each. All in you're looking at £1,160 pcm. You'd be on the tenancy in your own name with referencing through the agent, so it's all secure and above board.

About me / who I'm after: 34, Australian, and I work for a human rights organisation. Outside of work I'm usually hiking or trying (and mostly failing) to learn salsa. I'm out a fair amount but I also like a quiet night in, and when we're both around I'm always up for cooking together, a chat, or a board game. Appreciate good communication and also respecting quiet time. I keep the place clean and tidy and want someone who's the same. Ideally late 20s to 30s, friendly, easy to live with.
