Description
One of our housemates just bought a flat (lucky her!), so her room is now available in our home in Haggerston from April 2025. We’re sad to see her leave, but excited to welcome a new face friendly face into the crew.
The house is great: It has four double bedrooms and three bathrooms (two en-suites), spread over four floors. There is a really big living room, and a good sized south facing kitchen which leads on a private terrace and then onto a large gated communal square. It’s on a very quiet road. And we also have a south facing private terrace ☀️
It’s a relatively new build, is in great condition, and the landlords are responsive to fixing problems. Haggerston to be a really friendly liveable community. We are 30 seconds walk from the canal, within a 10 min walk from Broadway Market, and only slightly further on to London Fields, Victoria Park, and Angel. We're also close to Dalston and Shoreditch, with all the bigger shops you might need and loads of lovely local shops and proper food, and culture.
About the room:
The room is a spacious and private. It’s a large ground floor double, with a private 3 piece en-suite. There is a large cupboard in the bathroom which has a washing machine used by the whole house, but everyone is super respectful of the fact and we work out when it can be used.
Bills come to around £100-130 a month which includes a bi-weekly cleaner.
A deposit of £1039 will need to be paid to the outgoing tenant once references are cleared.
Please note: The room is available from as early as the 7th April, should you wish to move in a little earlier - but no worries if not.
But you will need to move in during April for the tenancy renewal in May
A little bit about us:
Lare (he/him). I’m a 29 year old, British-Nigerian writer and creative producer working in film, tv and theatre. I currently work 10-6 in Holborn for a scripted production company, but WFH a couple days a week, mostly on my own projects. I have lived in this house for almost 2 years, and east for a few more and really love it. I spend lots of my time going to and talking about films and plays. I love debating tv/ movies and books, keeping fit and cooking.
Des (she/her). I’m a 28 year old British-Nigerian journalist, born and raised in east London. I currently work from home a fair bit, though actively trying to get into the office more. I love watching movies, reading books as well as buying books I'll never get around to reading, hosting friends and spending too much money on good food.
Chloe (she/ her). I'm a 30 year old TV producer, working at a start up (fully office based) and spending my days trying to come up with the next Traitors. I live a wholesome exercise-fuelled life by winter and offset that with a degenerate festival fuelled life by summer.
We’re really keen to meet people from all backgrounds, and a mix of genders, POC & LGBTQIA+.
We are looking for people who care about making their house a positive environment for all living here. We’re looking for a housemate to both spend time with and become friends with, but also respect each other’s lives and space when needed - sociable, fun, chilled and clean. We love hosting dinners and welcoming people into our space, and cooking for pals etc - we’ve hosted birthday parties, game nights, brunches, viewing parties, but we're not aa huge party house.
**IMPORTANT** Unfortunately due to the Landlord referencing, we can’t take students/ masters, and people will need to be able to demonstrate affordability for the room, whether in full term employment, or consistent freelance work (completely out of my control).
We are looking to wrap things up pretty ASAP as referencing can be a bit long, so will be meeting people on a rolling basis. Please bear with us if responses take a while. We know how tough it is out there at the minute and want to consider people properly but will aim to get back to everyone at some point!
If you have any questions feel free to reach out. And if reaching out to view a room and potentially join the house, then please say a little about yourself - (age, job and what you’re looking for in a house etc.) - sorry to the introverts, but it’s helpful 🙏🏾 And also how long you’re hoping to stay - Ideally want people to stay for at least a year.
Excited to hear from all of you 🥰
