Musically-Minded Housemate Wanted in Hammersmith!

My friend Jiaxin and I are looking for a housemate! We are both professional classical pianists in our late 20s who recently graduated from the Royal College of Music. We are now working as freelance performers and teachers.

We have just had our offer of £3550 accepted at a really nice 3-bedroom maisonette in Hammersmith, a few minutes’ walk from the Ravenscourt Park station (District line). We’ll move in on 15 September. It’s located above a corner shop, so it’s ideal for musicians to want to practise at home without disturbing neighbouring tenants! The kitchen was recently renovated, and there’s a lovely rooftop terrace!

The three bedrooms are of different sizes. Jiaxin and I will pay a bit more (£1250 and £1175 pcm) for the two larger rooms. Your room will be £1125 pcm. It comes with a full bed and a wardrobe. Bills are not included; the council tax band is E.

For full disclosure, two important notes:

1. The two of us plan to get a piano that we will put in the living room and practise on from 9:30am to 7:30pm every day, including weekends, and we need a housemate who is okay with that! A fellow musician would be very welcome, although we’d prefer a non-pianist, as we don’t want to compete over the piano!
2. Since Jiaxin and I work as freelancers, we are giving the landlord 6 months’ rent upfront (plus the security deposit) in lieu of an employer’s reference. We would need a housemate who can do the same.
