The flat
This self-contained studio flat, with a private roof terrace, is on the top (2nd) floor of a double-fronted house in Hammersmith. A recent tenant, a fashion designer, occupied it for over four years before he moved to Paris. The property will become available for rent in mid-September, 2025.

The studio is fully-furnished and consists of a bed-sitting-room with a double bed, a small but fully-fitted kitchen, a bathroom, and a private roof terrace.
The flat is a five-minute walk from Ravenscourt Park and its underground station, a ten-minute walk from the River Thames, and is close to all the facilities of Hammersmith, Chiswick and Shepherds Bush.
The flat is accessed through a first-floor reception room which is not in use on a daily basis. In view of this shared access, both the owners and the prospective tenant need to make sure that their outlooks are compatible, references will be sought, and an agreement signed.

The owners
The property is owned by a retired international civil servant and his younger husband. We are both active on the cultural scene and travel abroad regularly, having close links to South-East Asia. But, apart from hosting occasional dinner parties, our preference is for an extremely peaceful and uneventful home life.

The tenant
The flat is not available for double occupancy, but the tenant is welcome to invite a spouse or partner for occasional stays. Our strong preference is for a male tenant who is not working from home throughout the week. The flat will suit an academic or professional person with professional commitments and a quiet life-style. It is not suitable for young people who are finding their feet in the metropolis. Neither smokers nor pets are accepted.

Other terms
The monthly rent is £1,400 all-found, payable in advance at the start of every month, and the (returnable) deposit is £1,000. The minimum term is six months, but a longer term is preferred.
