Description
Double attic bedroom in the loft extension with own en-suite bathroom. The bedroom has eaves storage, a low-level shelving unit and rails for hanging clothes. Downstairs, next to the kitchen (in a converted garage) is a small room which would be available to a Sharer who needs to work or study.
There is a clean, well-furnished kitchen for shared use as well as a washing machine and dryer. The house has a large garden and good Wifi.
A cleaner comes to the property once a week although the Sharer will be responsible for keeping their own room and bathroom clean and tidy.
Homeshare Location:
Hampstead Garden Suburb is a beautiful, well-kept conservation area on the edge of Hampstead Heath, close to both Golders Green and East Finchley for Northern Line connections to central London. The house is moments from regular, local buses to both stations as well as shops and amenities nearby. In close proximity are parks, cafés, and Hampstead Heath extension.
**Available from: January 2026**
** £249 per month**
The Homeshare Opportunity:
We are delighted to offer a wonderful new Homeshare opportunity, available immediately, subject to our vetting process, for a sharer to live comfortably and affordably in a beautiful part of London (Hampstead Garden Suburb) in return for providing some practical support, companionship and a reassuring overnight presence to a lovely 90yr old lady.
In return for the low-cost accommodation (£249 pm), we are looking to match our homeowner with a kind and compassionate female sharer; someone who will provide a reassuring presence at night, some friendly companionship and a little practical support approx. 10 hours per week). No personal care is required nor permitted in a Homeshare.
Our homeowner is 90yrs old and has a supportive, loving family. She has three children, many grandchildren and a few great grandchildren, some of whom live nearby. She often visits her family for dinner on a Friday. She was widowed a few years ago and whilst still enjoying an active independent life, she sometimes feels lonely and would enjoy some company from time to time, as well as peace of mind that someone else is in the house at night.
She is in good physical and mental health, although may use a stick occasionally to walk outside. She is still a competent driver and finds a reason to go out daily to do different activities such as a weekly yoga class, food shopping, volunteering at a Food Bank or to meet friends for lunch and coffee, or a walk. She is a regular at U3A history groups and likes to go to concerts in the large, local Church and to art galleries when she can.
She is interested in current affairs and likes to watch the News on Channel 4 as well as listen to podcasts and classical music on the radio.
Our friendly homeowner is looking to share her home with a happy mature female sharer with a kind and cheerful disposition, a good sense of humour and plenty of common sense, who would enjoy some companionship but also respect her need for space. She would like to share with someone who enjoys cooking and would be happy to make and share an evening meal 2 or 3 times a week.
The ideal sharer will be a mature student, or someone working on a hybrid basis or flexibly or part-time (preferably not out for 12 hours a day). Someone who would enjoy some shared companionship in an evening playing Scrabble sometimes or going to the cinema, or for the occasional walk together or coffee, or to the supermarket on the weekend.
In terms of practical support, she needs help with IT issues, putting the bins out and keeping the kitchen clean and tidy and watering the garden in better weather.
We are looking to match this Homeshare opportunity soon and do expect a big response. If it is of interest, please get in touch with us telling us about yourself, your work/study situation, and interests, and particularly why you consider that you would be well suited to this opportunity. Thank you.
**Cost: £249 per month**
This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent to the Homeowner. Bills are included, although you may be asked to make a modest contribution to the Homeowner towards the energy bills, and council tax if you are working.
We are a social enterprise facilitating Homeshare matches across London and surrounding areas. We match people who live alone and need some practical support and company, with mature adults wanting affordable accommodation who are happy to provide some companionship and practical support in return for a safe place to live.
