COMMUNITY-MINDED HOUSEMATES WANTED
[Viewings from 12th of Jan, room available immediately, can hold for right person]
We’re looking for friendly, community-minded people to join our big, beautiful and unique warehouse home. We’re LGBTQIA+ friendly and welcoming. There’s a slight preference for more mature folks to help keep balance in the house, and we prefer not to go for people in their early twenties, but all applications are genuinely considered.
We receive a lot of responses and have limited viewing slots, so please tell us a good amount about yourself when you message — it really helps us know who to invite in.
We love living here and hope you will too.
THE HOUSE
Our home is a large converted warehouse made up of two connected sides (Sides 1 and 2), joined internally by corridors and externally by a spacious shared garden.
Each side includes:
Two fully equipped kitchens (two ovens, two sinks, shared pots, plates, etc.)
Three bathrooms (2 showers, 1 bath)
14 bedrooms
Huge communal living areas
There are also studio and chill-out spaces, plus a large mezzanine with loads of potential for creative projects, workshops, or working from home.
THE HOUSEHOLD
Although we live across two sides, we operate as one community. There’s almost always someone around to chat with, watch TV, play board games, or borrow oat milk — but thanks to varied schedules, shared spaces rarely feel crowded. The house is very well set up for shared living.
We’re a diverse group of creatives, hands-on workers and professionals — from tree surgeons to anthropologists, charity workers to physicists, and everything in between. The house is very LGBTQIA+ leaning (allies welcome), liberal, open-minded and respectful.
We enjoy cooking and eating together, board games, films and occasional group nights out. While we throw a very good party a couple of times a year and enjoy music and drinks at weekends (occasionally pretty late), this is more of a relaxed, family-feeling home than a party house — especially during the week.
That said, living with this many people naturally comes with some bustle. If you’re looking for total silence, this probably isn’t the right fit.
THE ROOM
All rooms are good-sized doubles, with space for a sofa and desk if you work from home. There’s also loads of additional communal space for creative or desk-based activities.
Rooms are mostly unfurnished, though you may be able to take furniture from the outgoing tenant or from elsewhere in the warehouse community. You’re free to decorate your room however you like — only £50 is deducted from your deposit for redecorating. Many people fully personalise their rooms.
When someone moves out, current tenants often reshuffle rooms, so the rooms advertised are usually the smaller ones (still doubles!). Larger rooms come up regularly, and existing housemates get first choice.
Please note: Bedrooms do not have traditional windows. There’s a fresh-air circulation system bringing air from outside, and glass bricks that let in some light from the very bright communal spaces.
BONUS POINTS
Part of a wider warehouse community, with other units nearby and a lovely bar right at the entrance
Excellent transport links:
7-minute walk (or short bus ride) to Manor House, Seven Sisters and Stamford Hill
15-minute walk or 5-minute bus to Finsbury Park and Green Lanes
Plenty of local shops and great takeaways
Available ASAP, with flexible move-in dates
Rolling monthly contract including all bills, internet and a cleaner
£10/month contribution to a shared kitty for supplies and fun house upgrades
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for kind, chilled people who can coexist, compromise and contribute to a shared home — and who clean up after themselves (this is important!).
We value people who are open to getting involved socially now and then. You don’t have to be around all the time, but this isn’t a house where everyone stays in their room and ignores each other. Bonus points if you bring a skill, interest or creative energy to the space.
All diets welcome — the house currently leans veggie, with a few vegans. Being queer or an ally is essential. Politically, the house is left-leaning and intersectional; conspiracy theorists need not apply.
The preferences listed on the ad are guidelines only. If you think you’re a good fit but don’t match them exactly, please still message — we’re especially keen to balance out the slightly older end of the age range.
The house is probably best suited to someone with a roughly Mon–Fri, 9–5 schedule, as that’s how most of the household operates and it helps minimise noise friction.
SUMMARY
I’ve lived here for several years and genuinely love it. Many of us are invested in the space and continually work to improve it. There’s currently a really great vibe, and we’d love to keep that going.
If you’re chilled, clean, considerate, and looking for a home and a community — not just somewhere to sleep — please message us with some info about yourself. Generic messages without personal details are unlikely to get a response, simply because of the volume of interest.
We look forward to meeting you!
