Description
Hello! I’m Jenny, my housemate of 3 years is moving out so I am looking for someone new to share the flat with! I have lived in London in this flat for many years, and I see this as a home so it’s really important to me that I share with someone who values the flat as a shared home and is on the same page. Please read the full advert and get in touch if you think we could be a good fit as housemates!
ABOUT THE FLAT
The flat is on the main road and the room available is a double room, furnished with bed (with storage underneath), wardrobe, and chest of drawers. We have a shared living room, kitchen and bathroom with shower. The living room has a TV and a large table which can be used for working from home (I tend to work upstairs when wfh).
The room is available from 1st October 2026. Rent is £765 per month, and bills are separate (electricity, water, Council Tax, internet). Council Tax Band B. Having lived here a while we have a good relationship with the landlord who is very prompt at responding and attending to any issues.
*Important:* I have a cat, so you’ll need to like cats!
ABOUT ME
You'll be sharing with one other person (me!) and the cat. I’m 34 and work for an education charity supporting young people, which I really enjoy. I work from the office 3-4 days a week and then at home the other day(s). I’m in a choir, volunteer and do swing dancing, and I enjoy going for walks, occasional theatre, and spending time with family and friends. Having lived in London a while I have a fairly good social life, so I’m usually out 2-3 evenings a week. I enjoy cooking but tend to do a big batch cook each week so am not in the kitchen every night. I like having friends over to the flat for dinner (or board games!) and occasionally have friends or family to stay for a night or two.
At weekends I’d say I’m 50/50 at home vs out and sometimes away for the weekend. I like being able to have an evening or weekend relaxing at home and enjoy obscure 90s TV dramas or a Jane Austen series!
WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR
I really value the flat as a bit of a sanctuary to come home to and am looking for someone friendly, tidy and communicative to share with. I’ve had a very good relationship with my current housemate so am keen to find the right new person to share with.
Ideally, I’d like to share with someone who is a professional of similar age, who has their own social life/activities going on but would be up to share a meal, chat or watch a film together etc. some evenings. We’d share cleaning and bills and keep each other in the loop if people are coming over etc.
ABOUT THE AREA
The flat is on Green Lanes in Harringay – it’s a lively area with shops and pubs open late, and great Turkish restaurants. It’s close to local parks including Finsbury Park (with the Parkland Walk to Highgate), Downhills Park and a bus ride to Alexandra Palace. Choice of supermarkets 10 mins walk away and lots of independent shops on Green Lanes. It’s always felt a safe area with a nice community feel.
TRANSPORT LINKS
I’m a bit of a transport nerd but to keep it brief: Turnpike Lane and Manor House Tube stations (Piccadilly Line) are both 10-15 mins walk away and Finsbury Park close by for the Victoria Line. Harringay Green Lanes Overground station (Suffragette line) and Harringay National Rail station are both 10 mins walk away. 29, 141, and 341 buses go along Green Lanes and take you into central London. Turnpike Lane bus station is close by and has bus links across north London. Buses at Manor House run to Hackney.
If you’re interested and you think we might be a good fit as housemates, please reply telling me a bit about yourself :) I’m planning to do viewings the week of 24th August so let me know your availability in the evenings.
