Description
Dates:
We are looking for a fifth person (over 30) to share our house in Haringey. As one of us is leaving on the 15th of August, we are looking for another person to take their place. The rent will be for 6 months with the possibility of extending this period.
About us:
Clau (They/Them), Lisa (She/Her), Theo (They/Them), and Sophie (They/Them). We are all in our early 30s and work in different sectors (charity, housing, arts, etc.). We appreciate a communal atmosphere when living with others and have built a lovely community where we hope everyone feels welcome, comfortable, and at home.
Many evenings, we’ll end up sitting around the kitchen table chatting and sharing food. Trips to the pub and having friends over for dinner are pretty usual occurrences. Often, when anyone is doing something, we’ll post it on our group chat and see who wants to join. We also very much respect each other’s space if you just need a quiet evening to chill in your room.
We have a wide range of interests, but social and environmental consciousness are one of many common grounds, and a few of us are engaged in migrant justice. Aside from this, some things we enjoy include: cooking and sharing food, watching movies, swimming, yoga, art and knitting.
About the house:
The house is on two floors. It has a spacious kitchen/communal area, 2 bathrooms and a beautiful garden. It is a 10-minute walk to Haringey and Haringey Green Lanes (Overground) stations, and a 15-minute walk to Turnpike Lane (Piccadilly line). The free room costs 750 pounds per month (excluding bills). The room comes fully furnished with a double bed.
The four of us share most grocery expenses, cook for each other, and have a weekly cleaning Rota. It is important for us that we take care of our home and each other in a caring and responsible way.
If it sounds like you’d be a good fit for our home, we’d love to hear from you, so send us a message with a bit about yourself, and we can arrange to meet. 🙂
Additional info:
Council tax: £238 per month (£47.60 each per month)
The kitchen is our only communal space, so this might not suit someone who works from home a lot. We tend to work in our rooms or share the kitchen if we’re working from home.
