Description
The flat is very much my home, and I'd love to share it with the right person.
My current housemate is leaving to migrate south of the river (booo!) so I am looking for a new housemate to share my space with.
First-floor flat with a loft conversion in a Victorian terraced house — spacious, light-filled, and full of character. There's a large shared living/dining room and a large, recently renovated kitchen with a washer/dryer and dishwasher. It's fully stocked with pots, pans and crockery — ready to cook in from day one.
The room for rent is on the first floor, at the back of the house — a double room with large bay windows overlooking the back garden (no access to the garden itself, unfortunately). There's a large first-floor bathroom with a shower and bath that will generally be yours alone to use. My room is the loft, with an en-suite.
The room comes semi-furnished with a double bed, mattress, and a small wardrobe.
There's also a small spare bedroom with bunk beds. My family stay in there every couple of months, and my nephews visit too — you'd be very welcome to use it for friends or family coming for a short stay.
We currently keep bikes in the flat, but that's changing: I'm looking into a bike box and I'm top of the waitlist for a bike hanger on the street.
I'm open to having a conversation about pets, if you already have one. I love animals, and would love to have a pet at some point — however, we don't have garden access and we don't have a cat flap.
The location:
• 10–15 min walk to Turnpike Lane (Piccadilly line)
• 10–15 min walk to Harringay Green Lanes (Overground, Suffragette line)
• 15 min walk to Harringay or Hornsey station (National Rail)
• 2 min walk to Harringay Green Lanes — a brilliant high street with independent grocers, cafés, and some of the best Turkish food around, plus parks and green space nearby
• 20 min walk to Finsbury Park
• 30 min walk to Alexandra Palace
Bills are about £170 per month (separate to rent) and include: wifi, electricity, water, gas, and council tax (band C).
A bit about me:
I'm Lizi. I own the flat with my brother, who lives just around the corner with his family, and I've been here about six years. I’ve been in London since 2013, apart from a couple of years living abroad.
I'm an immigration and human rights lawyer, working four days a week, mostly in our office in Tottenham.
I'm vegetarian and with my previous housemates, we have generally shared food shopping and cooking, so it would be great if you also eat a mostly vegetarian diet and you’re up for sharing too!
Personality-wise: I'm warm, friendly, and love chilling with my nearest and dearest — but I've also got a playful, energetic side, whether that's swimming, the gym, yoga, zipping around London on my bike, or planning my next trip or festival.
This is a two-person share, so the vibe between us really matters. I’m down for cooking and eating together in the evenings when we're both around, but I equally value just chilling out at home, not doing too much. I see my home as a kind of calm safe haven for chilling and re-charging in.
I am fairly social, and I am often out and about in the evenings and at weekends. I'd say I bring a medium amount of my social life home - I love having friends over and sometimes have people staying for a weekend or an odd night in the week if they’re in town. I'd love to live with someone similar.
I like to keep the shared spaces tidy, and a cleaner comes every fortnight for the kitchen and bathrooms.
What I'm looking for:
I am looking for a relaxed and easy-going person to share my home with. As above, I’m generally fairly socialable, but also really cherish chilling out at home, so I’d love someone with a similar vibe.
I'd prefer to live with a female or non-binary person, late twenties to late thirties — LGBTQIA+ people especially encouraged to get in touch.
I'd love for whoever moves in to already have a settled life in London — friends, routines, things going on — and to be fairly active and out and about. I really value having a mix of time together and time apart, and think that makes for the best kind of housemate dynamic.
Tell me a bit about yourself if you get in touch — happy to do viewings in person or online.
