Description
One spacious, light room has become available in our lovely 5-bedroom queer-friendly Victorian houseshare in Herne Hill.
The house is situated on a quiet, tree-lined street about 5 minutes’ walk from North Dulwich station and 12 minutes from Herne Hill. It is a no through road so the main traffic noises come from dog walkers, cyclists, and ducks setting off from the little park over the road. There is a good selection of cafés, takeaways, convenience shops and parks on our doorstep. Herne Hill is just down the road and Brixton, Dulwich and Peckham only a little further.
We are Emily, Emma, Matt, and Charlotte- a scientist, dog walker, software developer, and nursery administrator in our 30s. We get along really well and often spend time together in the evenings cooking and chatting. We like to spend our weekends at gigs, pubs, park walks, exhibitions etc, or just hanging out on the sofa.
We’re looking for a housemate who enjoys a larger caring house-share environment, and is looking for somewhere to call home longer term (not just a room in a house). The house is lovely and big, so we generally don't feel like we’re getting under each other’s feet. We are a mix of home and office workers, but you can be either. We like to keep the house clean and tidy and we have a fantastic cleaner who comes every week to do communal areas. We're lucky enough to have a front and back garden too, so bonus points if you’ve got green fingers.
The room is at the back of the house and looks out on the garden so it's nice and peaceful at night. As a housemate you'll also benefit from good communal storage areas, plus a dishwasher and tumble dryer (we have a utility room!).
The room comes with a double bed, a sink, and there are likely to be one or two other pieces of furniture depending on the outgoing housemate's plans, but there is plenty of space to store things if you bring your own.
Bills come to about £125 per month, including council tax, water, gas, electricity, TV and internet. There is a £600 deposit payable when you first move in.
The room is available from the start of April.
If you think you’d be a good fit, please send us a message with some information about yourself and we can organise for you to come and see the house and hang out for a while in person :)
