My flatmate bought a place so I am looking for someone to sign a new lease with me, from mid January 2025.
About the apartment/room:
The apartment is bright, spacious enough for two people, with a decent size kitchen and living room. The living area and the bedroom are facing Brockwell Park, providing a nice leafy/green view. There is a washer/dryer, and a storage space. "Your" bedroom has a built in wardrobe, a double bed, and plenty of space for a working desk.
The building:
The building is quiet and well maintained, with respectful neighbours. The apartment is on the 2nd floor (no lift). Located next to a small junction so expect some noise coming from the street. There is a large, residents-only, roof terrace overlooking the park which is really nice especially in summer.
Location:
The property is very conveniently located, 5 mins walk to Herne Hill train station (direct trains to London Victoria or the City). Around 20 mins walk to Brixton Tube station. Plenty of busses going in all directions. Herne Hill is a quiet neighbourhood with nice cafes and small/independent restaurants, and a nice Sunday market with food stands and more. Brockwell Park is amazing, especially if you like walking/running or just being outdoor. It also has tennis and basketball courts.
About me:
I work in the real estate industry and most of the time I work from the office in central, however I sometime work from home too as I make my own schedule (flexible hours). I like being active, I play in a basketball team nearby and have trainings in the evening, three times a week. I love travelling when I can. I enjoy cooking. I have a girlfriend who comes over sometimes and stays the night, as well as I spend some nights at hers too so at times you will have the flat for yourself :)
I am looking for a non smoker, tidy and clean (very important for me as I like to keep the property in good condition) flatmate with a similar work/life situation. Socialising/having friends over from time to time is perfectly fine, but no parties please :)
The bills will be divided equally and come to around £100-140 per month EACH (depending on usage of heating etc).
