Description
I’m moving out of my beloved room here in Herne Hill, leaving a space open in this lovely household of 5 (4 housemates + you).
We are: Italian male, works in charity and makes a mean bit of gnocchi. British male, actor and singer, has lived here for well over a decade and is always up for an eve of bad tv on the sofa. British female and male who are a couple and both work at the National Theatre. We're an LGBTQ+ friendly household and 2 of the household are LGBTQ+.
You are: A professional, 25 or over. Working in any industry, but most of the house work in the arts so would be fun if you do too. We like to socialise, but rest assured you always have your privacy! We're by no means militant but please be reasonably clean/tidy, respectful and considerate :)
The room: A double bedroom, which I currently use as both my bedroom and home office with a desk, double bed, and wardrobe.
The house: Is technically a flat, but there is only the newsagents beneath us. There are four bedrooms, a large kitchen, a large shared living room with TV + space to work with your laptop, and a cozy roof terrace for summer evenings and pretty sunset photos. A bathroom with a tub is shared between 3 housemates. Separate toilet. Our landlord is a really good guy, who fixes everything that might need fixing quickly and efficiently.
Location: Our flat is located amazingly, on the border of leafy Dulwich, 5 mins walk to North Dulwich station and 12 mins walk to Herne Hill station. Plenty of shops, delis, cafes and grocery shopping in walking distance, not to mention the many glorious parks this area has to offer.
Netflix famous Ken’s Fish Bar is our local chippie and undoubtedly one of the best things about the house/area. We love Ken’s.
Small print: The rent (£679) and deposit (1 month's rent) is non-negotiable, and a very cheap rate for the area. The lease is handled directly with the Landlord which makes everything real easy. Bills for water, wifi, heating/electricity and council tax tend to be around £120 a month.
IMPORTANT: Please note that the rent for the room from February 16th 2026 - August 16th 2026 will be reduced to £572. At that point, the couple sharing a room will be moving out, so the rent will increase to the £679 from August 16th 2026 - February 2027.
Oh, and we have a cat! Called Oren - she's lovely and super friendly, who will also be leaving on August 16th.
