Small double room in Highbury

Hello!

We're looking for someone to come live with us in our lovely 4-bedroom home in Highbury.

We live in a cosy and calm 4-bed on the Hackney-Islington border. There's three of us, John, Costi, Coco and also Dougie the Dog, John's old-boy Miniature Schnauzer.

The house is spread over two floors with lots of living space - a huge living room, separate kitchen, utility room for bikes and shoes or things, and a downstairs toilet in addition to the main bathroom upstairs. There's a huge garden too that we maintain ourselves, which is great for chilling in the summer, growing things, or simply having your morning coffee and a chat. Having so much extra living space makes living in London feel that little bit less chaotic.

The room is small but suitable for home working. It comes with a built-in closet, a desk, a hanging shelf and a double bed with (lots of) storage space beneath. You are free to rearrange, decorate or add things as you like!

The location is pretty amazing - we are just seconds from Blackstock Road and Clissold Park, with Stoke Newington, Highbury Barn, Arsenal and Finsbury Park all really close by. Great transport links too - Piccadilly line and busses to Central London are all close by.

About us: we are all easy-going, thoughtful people aged 30-40. John works in wellness, Costi an anthropologist and researcher, and Coco a mental health practitioner. We live pretty independent lives, but get along really well and love spontaneously coming together for chats, laughs or home cooked dinner, or nipping to the pub for a goss where life allows.

There is a very caring and chill vibe in the house and we're all very conscientious of it being a little gem, and take equal responsibility for things like cleaning and looking after the place - tidiness definitely very important! We are looking for someone of similar energy to join us - someone looking to treat it as their home rather than a temporary crash pad. We're looking for someone to join us on our new 18-month contract, and subletting is not allowed. Sadly we also can't allow any more pets.

The room is available from the start of December and rent is £831 per month to a private landlord. Bills are not included in the rent - Council Tax Band D, Gas/Elec, WiFi, Water - and are managed between us, normally coming to about an extra £100 +/- per month each, utilties being a bit more exey in the winter.
