Description
I’m looking for someone to take over my cosy double room in Highbury!
The Room
The room itself is a small double and I’ve loved having it as my little sanctuary in London for a year. It has a large window looking out onto the balcony over the private park which means it’s nice and bright with lots of greenery around. There is a bed with underbed storage, a bedside table, large built in wardrobe with shelves, storage cupboard, a set of drawers and a large full length mirror. Because the bedroom faces a private gated garden for residents only and is not street-facing, so it is nice and quiet.
The Flat
Situated on the second floor of the building (there is an elevator), it is a 4 bed flat and the living room is very spacious with room for additional storage. There is a TV with all the streaming platforms and super speedy wifi. It has a sunny balcony and overlooks the garden, which is the size of a small park. In the kitchen you have your own cupboard as well as shelf in the fridge and freezer so enough space and all the cooking utensils you could imagine! There is also a bike shed with private lock and key.
The other flatmates are 2 girls; Emily and Elyssa and one guy, Ben. They are all working professionals and are super kind and welcoming people. Emily and Elyssa have a hybrid set up to work from home some days. The group is friendly and always happy to have a chat in the kitchen or watch some TV, but everyone also has a busy schedule, so there is no pressure if you want to do your own thing. Overall it is a relaxed place to live! LGBTQ+ friendly too, of course.
The Area
Highbury/Islington is a lovely safe area to live, there are lots of bars, cafes, pubs, restaurants and green areas, all within walking distance from the flat. The street and surrounding streets are pretty with trees and lovely Victorian houses. We’re right amidst a bunch of parks, like Highbury Fields and Clissold Park.
Transport
The transport connection is excellent! Arsenal station (Piccadilly) is 5 minutes away, Finsbury Park about 15 minutes, and Highbury & Islington station also about 15mins. There are also several bus lines within a 3-5 minute walk, which is great for any time of day but especially coming home late at night. Overall, I have never felt unsafe in this neighbourhood, especially when returning at odd hours!
Costs
The rent itself is £795GBP, bills tend to come to around 100 GBP on top of that.
If this sounds like the right fit for you, please get in touch with some information about yourself, i. e. age, what you do for a living, interests – thanks!
