Description
I wish I could stay in this flat until the end of the summer, but I'm moving to the United States at the beginning of June and need to find a short letter to take my place before I leave on June 2nd. The move-in date is flexible.
The flat is located in the Bourne Estates, a Grade II listed Edwardian housing complex near Chancery Lane and Farringdon Stations. Rent is £200 per week, payable every four weeks, not including bills, which come out to about £50 per month. The lease runs through September 7th, 2016 but if you like the flat then you could renew the contract and stay for the next year, though you’d likely need to find two additional flatmates, as both of my current flatmates are finishing their academic programs and moving away from London at the end of the summer.
The building has a security gate with fob access. The complex is mostly families or older couples/older singles. The flat itself is located up one flight of stairs on the first floor, has an in-unit washer/dryer, a fully equipped kitchen, and a small living room/dining area. The room comes fully furnished with a desk, roller chair, desk lamps, bookshelf, dresser, wardrobe, nightstand, bed, and mattress, but you’d need to provide your own bedding. I’ve listed it as a double, but it’s bit on the smaller side – but totally fine for one person. The flat has one full bathroom with toilet and shower, and an additional small toilet that works in a pinch, but is really very small.
My two flatmates are both students finishing their degrees, one undergraduate and one master’s student. They’re chill guys from New Caledonia (France) and Colombia. Basically everyone does their own thing, but we’re all friendly. The graduate student will be working on his thesis this summer so it would be great if we could find someone that is low key and not too noisy. We’re a pretty quiet bunch.
The flat is located in Holborn but is very close to Bloomsbury, Clerkenwell, and Farringdon. This location is great for students at universities in Central London or professionals that are looking to move to Central London but don’t want to get into a long-term lease. The location has easy access to the Central, Circle, Hammersmith & City, and Metropolitan Lines with the Chancery Lane and Farringdon Stations, which are each about a 7-minute walk from the flat, and easy access to the Piccadilly Line at Holborn or Russell Square Stations, which are each about a 15-minute walk from the flat. There’s a Sainsbury’s Local across the street and a Co-operative Grocery located around the corner. The building complex sits right on Clerkenwell Road, which has pubs and restaurants, but the flat is interior so the traffic isn’t really audible. There’s an Argos about a 5-minute walk away. On weekdays, there’s a lunch food court set up on Leather Lane, which runs alongside the building complex as well.
