Large double in beautiful flat, Holloway

Are you looking for a double room with desk space in a big, characterful flat? With private outside space? And an array of flatmates who strike that notorious balance between ‘sociable and outgoing’ and ‘tidy, clean and respectful of other people’s space’?

Well you’re in luck! After three years, my partner Josh and I have bought a place just down the road, which means a slot in London’s best flatshare has opened up.

Let’s start with the main character, the flat:

It’s a 4-bed, 3 bath flat a few floors up in a block just off Holloway Road, 5 minute walk from the station and surrounded by supermarkets.

It’s been a flatshare for over 10 years now, so it’s had a lot of love poured into it over the years, and the décor, plant life and general atmosphere really reflects this. It’s got a big-ass living room, a nice cosy kitchen – even the hallway kind of has a vibe. More importantly, there’s access to a shared roof terrace with our lovely neighbour Ben, and above that a huge roof terrace just for us. It’s literally got two roof terraces.

We deal with the landlord directly and communication has always been super easy.

Next up, the room:

The room is a very decently sized double, which fits a big desk, large wardrobe and bed. It’s a lovely sage green but you can repaint as you wish. It has two windows which get lovely morning light. It also comes with its own bathroom (not en-suite but you have exclusive use).

And of course, the people. You’ll be joining 3 truly excellent flatmates:

_Lorenzo, an Italian filmmaker, writer and recruiter

_Beth, a hospital administrator and literature enthusiast from the US

_Tom, a documentary producer from New Zealand

We have a generally fun, cheery vibe. There are plenty of keen chefs willing to make group meals, and we hang out a fair bit when people are free – pub quizzes, barbecues on the terrace and the occasional excellent party.
