Description
Hello hello,
We're looking for a new housemate to join our lovely queer-friendly and cosy home in Crouch End / Hornsey. I will be moving out to live with my sister, but have loved living here for the past 4 years.
The room is PARTLY FURNISHED – it includes a desk, wardrobe but NO BED. The photos show two different set ups for the room – including with a bunk-bed, or small double – so you can decide what kind of bed you would like to bring.
Shared spaces include a kitchen, dining room, living room and a garden (this is a bit of a work in progress, as we have just had some work done on the back of the house, but we have a fire pit at the back and like to have BBQs and fires in the summer!).
We adore living here, it’s affordable for the area and has great energy. We do our best to make it feel like a proper home, and expect everyone to clean after themselves, take the bins out, etc. Though busy with our own projects, we all like to make time for shared dinners, trips out dancing, cycling, walks, or a good hang in the living room. We’d love someone who’ll add to the communal flow of the household.
We are:
Pete (he/him) - the longest surviving member, he's a woman's football coach and cooks curry by the gallon on the rare occasions that he's not working.
Mads (she/they)- a train captain and multi talented artist, singing, acting, painting and achieving a flawless skincare
Tommaso (he/him) - works in the arts, an amazing cook who knows how to thrift with style - and how to maintain the perfect curl routine.
Raktim (he/they) – absolute babe, incredible dancer and divine conversationalist.
The rent comes to £600/month with water and council tax. Bills are usually £100–£150/month each, which includes wifi, electricity, weekly cleaner and shared essentials (toilet roll, cleaning supplies, bin bags, etc.)
The area is well connected on the train, Hornsey High Street (Big Sainsbury's) is 5 mins away, Crouch End 7 mins, Hornsey Station is 8 mins, Turnpike Lane 15 mins, Finsbury Park is a 10 min cycle and you're a stone's throw from several parks.
Landlady Michelle is a private owner and very responsive whenever there's anything that needs doing. Smoking is okay in the garden, but not in the house.
One of our other rooms is also up for a 9-month sublet as our dear Raktim has to travel home for family reasons. If you are interested, please see the other ad we are listing.
Tell us a bit about yourself, what you are looking for in a house share (we will only respond to ads with some info). We would like to make space for someone queer/QTIPOC, but good allies are more than welcome too :)
Viewings will take place in the next few weeks, with moving 8th of November but this could be negotiated for the right person.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Mads, Tommaso, Pete and Raktim xx
