Double room sublet in a queer friendly house

Hello people,

We’re looking for someone to join our queer-friendly and cozy 5-bedroom home in Crouch End/Hornsey. Sadly, due to family reasons, I am travelling till August 2026, so I am subletting my room for the period.

The room includes a small double bed, a built in desk, and the clothes rails in the celling – if you wanted the bring your own wardrobe to replace the clothes rails this could be arranged.

Shared spaces include a kitchen, dining room, living room and a garden (this is a bit of a work in progress, as we have just had some work done on the back of the house, but we have a fire pit at the back and like to have BBQs and fires in the summer!).

We adore living here, it’s affordable for the area and has great energy. We do our best to make it feel like a proper home, and expect everyone to clean after themselves, take the bins out, etc. Though busy with our own projects, we all like to make time for shared dinners, trips out dancing, cycling, walks, or a good hang in the living room. We’d love someone who’ll add to the communal flow of the household.

A bit about us:

Peter (he/him) – our longest-standing housemate, women’s football coach and chess player extraordinaire.

Madda (she/they) – our train captain, multi-talented artist and skincare icon.

Tommaso (he/him) – works in the arts, thrifting guru, and the wizard of curls and delicious meals.

It will be a fixed term sublet from end of November’25 to August 2026, with a deposit of £600. The rent comes at about £600/month with water and council tax. Bills are usually £100–£150/month each, which includes wifi, electricity, weekly cleaner and shared essentials (toilet roll, cleaning supplies, bin bags, etc.)

Our landlady, Michelle, is a private owner who’s super responsive and helpful whenever something needs fixing. Smoking’s fine in the garden, but not indoors.

The area is well connected on the train, Hornsey High Street (Big Sainsbury's) is 5 mins away, Crouch End 7 mins, Hornsey Station is 8 mins, Turnpike Lane 15 mins, Finsbury Park is a 10 min cycle. You're a stone's throw from several parks and idyllic neighbourhoods to walk around on a cheeky lunch break.

If you are wondering why only 3 people are mentioned above, it’s because another room is also up for grabs for longer tenure as our dear housemate Claire is moving out to live with her sister. To view the ad for the other room, it is posted under Claire's account.

The move-in date is the 18th of November, but it's possible to organise things more progressively beforehand.
