Description
A small, but very cosy, double room in a bright 3 bedroom flat just off Old Street is available from the 20th of December.
The flat:
The flat is set back from the busyness of Old Street, and nestled amongst green spaces, while still a short (7 minute) walk to the Northern line platform at Old Street. The kitchen is well equipped, and the living room is set up for cosy movie nights with a projector. The desk in the living room will be yours for use. The flat gets lovely light throughout the day, and is nice and quiet at night due to its being away from any busy roads. The flat is filled with lots of lovely plants, and there’re always more joining (Columbia flower market is just a 15 minute walk away).
The Room:
The room itself comes furnished with a double bed, a tall chest of drawers and a double wardrobe. The room has plenty of space for storage, including space under the bed which can be utilised with ikea storage boxes, but is best suited for someone with a more compact wardrobe. The room is too small for a desk, but there’s a nook with a desk in the living room that’s for you. There are several communal storage spaces in the hallways and kitchen for other bits and pieces.
The Flatmates:
You’ll be sharing with two creative professionals. Noah (30) is an animator and Adi (28) is a graphic designer. They’re great to live with, very considerate and both great cooks. We like to hang out together as a flat, but also have time to ourselves. We often have Korean fried chicken nights, or home cook and watch a good movie. We keep the place clean, and look after the flat well, but aren’t too rigid either. At the weekends, we have a mix of doing our own thing or going for walks and coffee together. The flat has a really nice atmosphere, and is very welcoming. We’re not a party household, but love the occasional get together.
The area:
The flat is in a great area, where Shoreditch becomes Hoxton. The area is quiet with easy access to Aldi, Lidl, M&S, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose. There are great pubs and bars nearby, but the flat itself is nice and peaceful despite its proximity to hectic places. The Northern Line is just 7 minutes away, and the overground is a 15 minute walk to either Hoxton or Shoreditch High Street. There are also a number of great bus routes nearby, connecting you to east and central London.
The Nitty Gritty:
- Rent is £980 and paid on the 28th of each month. Bills come to approximately £70 a month (usually less in the summer).
- Rent will be prorated from the agreed move in date for the remainder of December.
- Deposit is £962.
- Other expenses such as toilet paper, cleaning materials etc are bought on rotation.
- The landlord will request a landlord reference, proof of income, ID check and one week’s holding deposit to secure the room until references have been checked.
