Description
Double ensuite room overlooking Hyde Park available from early August! ✨
Hello lovely people — we’re looking for someone to join our 3-bed, 2.5-bath flat in Marble Arch from the start of August. Rent is currently £1,422/month (including heating), with other bills usually around £85/month - we anticipate this may go up by c. 3.5% when we negotiate bringing in a new tenant (that could be you!).
🏡 About the flat
Our home is in a quiet apartment building directly opposite Hyde Park and about a 4-minute walk from Marble Arch tube. We’re on the 5th floor with lift access, and the building is looked after by weekday porters who handle bins, parcels, and generally make life run very smoothly. It’s an incredibly safe building, with a mix of long-term residents and people who are only around occasionally.
The flat itself is bright, calm, and very homey, with a large shared living room overlooking the park and loads of natural light throughout the day. Over the years the flat has hosted many dinners, reading evenings, debriefs over tea/wine, and a fair few good parties too.
The kitchen is small but very functional, and there’s secure bike storage round the back of the building. (One of us uses that sensibly; one of us currently keeps an unnecessarily expensive road bike in her bedroom.)
🛏 About the room
The room is a large fully furnished double with:
a private ensuite bathroom
built-in storage
desk/WFH setup
lots of light overlooking Hyde Park
🌿 About us
We’re R and C, both quite active, big readers, and work hybrid jobs, splitting our weeks between home and the office.
R(25) is from Glasgow and works as a civil engineer. Outside work she’s usually reading, training for a half marathon, at the gym/sauna, playing saxophone or having a drink with friends. Her ideal Friday night is probably a bath, a glass of wine, and a very good “fairy romance ‘(or alternatively down the pub). She’s warm, funny, and extremely easy to live with.
C(26) works as a civil servant. Outside work she plays rugby, swims, cycles, crafts, and hosts feminist dinner parties. She’s part of a local church community, and reads lots of political/feminist non-fiction and queer literature, and is very committed to making home feel welcoming, thoughtful, and properly restful.
We’re both quite house-proud and care a lot about making the flat feel cosy and looked after. We each have our own lives, friendships, hobbies, and routines, but this definitely isn’t a “ships passing in the night” flatshare. We like checking in on each other, chatting in the kitchen after work, and do monthly flat trips or dinners, and really value creating a calm, kind atmosphere we can all come home to.
We’d especially love someone around 25–30 who is thoughtful, emotionally intelligent, warm, and looking for an actual home rather than just somewhere to sleep between work and plans. We’re also hoping to get a cat later this year, so cat-friendly people very welcome 🐈
If this sounds like your kind of place, send us a message telling us a bit about yourself — what you do, what your life in London looks like, and what you’re looking for in a flatshare. We’d love to meet you 🌞
