Description
The flat is very modern, clean and comfortable, and I'm looking for a tidy lodger to share my flat. It's a lovely large comfy double bed and bedroom with lots of storage and wardrobes.
About you: I am looking for a single person lodger who is non-smoking, strictly vegetarian/vegan and doesn't have any pets. These 3 points are really important. You could be any sexuality or gender, I'm LGBTQIA+ friendly and open to sharing with any nationality or religion. The reason it's for a single person is because I live there too and I think the flat will be too crowded for a couple. If you have a partner they are welcome to stay for 2 nights out of 7, which I hope is fair. You can work/study from home if you like.
About me: I live there, I'm chatty and friendly. I've lived with many types of people in the past, so I'm flexible. If you are in your room I won't disturb you, and I will respect your privacy, the room has a lock. I mostly work quite late in the office. I'm 53 and young-minded, I've lived with all age groups. I go out and enjoy London life when I'm not working.
We share a good size living room / kitchen with all equipment which you can use and be at home in, and we share the bathroom which we will keep clean (there's a bath/shower). There would be just two of us there.
There is fast wifi but please note I don't have (or want) a TV, but you can watch anything on your devices in the living room or your room. If you do want to watch the BBC services you will need to buy your own TV licence. If you want to occasionally entertain at home in the evening with friends or work colleagues, for a meal or a drink just let me know and I'll make myself scarce. I go away for the weekend once every 6 weeks as well. I'm 53 and I often go out to gigs, the gym and social events.
Building works are due to finish in the spring, at the moment we can't use it, but in the future we will have access to the balcony and the use of a lovely roof garden on another floor.
£900 rent in advance per month. That includes £60 for the standard supply charge for bills (electric, water, council tax) and then you'll pay on top for your metered usage. There is a £300 refundable deposit. The room is available immediately, for a minimum 2 month rental that could be ongoing, with a 3 week notice period.
Location
The location is great for commuting: 5 mins from Holloway Road tube station, and you can be in Piccadilly circus in 20 minutes. Night tubes and night buses run all night to nearby Holloway Road. There is also secure bicycle parking inside the building. I'm afraid there isn't any car parking space, although you might look into paying rental on a parking space nearby. There are some good gyms nearby, and over 100 restaurants on Upper Street, a short bus ride or 15 min walk away. It is right next to Arsenal football ground. A few nights during the season it is busy and loud but that is also quite exciting to be around. It's 5 minutes from the London Metropolitan University.
Disabled access info:
Entry to the building, lift and flat is all step-free. The flat doesn't have any steps inside either. Doorways are wide enough for a wheelchair but not next to the bed. You would need to step into the shower/bath, and the kitchen worktops are not wheelchair-accessible.
I'm a designer and also write poetry. I enjoy going to music events and art galleries. I've lived in a lot of shared houses and aim to be an open-minded and cheerful person. Best wishes, Natalie
