Description
One of our flatmates is moving in with their partner (sadly for us, excitingly for them!) so we're looking for a new flatmate for a gorgeous flat in Islington. We rent directly from the landlord, and pay bills on top. These are currently around £130 a month and the property is council tax band D.
The rent is £1080.36 plus bills. The deposit is £950. The room will be available from the 16th August.
The flat:
The flat is super well-connected. It’s around a 15-minute walk to Angel station, 10 minutes to Highbury & Islington, 3 minutes to Essex Road station and 2 minute walk to Upper Street (lots and lots of amazing food). We also have loads of bus stops 1-4 mins walk from our front door which link to places like Waterloo, Moorgate and London Bridge. This is a first floor flat with a flight of stairs and no lift to access.
Inside, the flat is SUPER well stocked (it has basically anything you'd ever need) completely furnished, and quite spacious - esp the kitchen and living room (which has a sofa bed for any guests!!)
The bedroom is spacious, and has plenty of storage space, but if you need more there's a cupboard in the hallway and lots of shelves/drawers in the living room. In the past the landlord has been fine with decorating in a respectful way; worth saying she is also extremely responsive if and when we do need anything so it's a real pleasure living here.
About us (Yasmin and Orla):
Yasmin: 26y/o, work in the public sector - usually from home. Outside of work I love anything music related (I love going to gigs and spend a lot of my free time writing songs). I'm often out on weeknights but when we're all home I am very down for a movie and a chat. I've lived in the flat 6 years so it's very much a home to me, and also means I have plenty of local food recs!!
Orla: also 26y/o and working in local government. I’ve lived in the flat (and London) for a year now and love it !! In my spare time, I like to do big walks, yoga, tennis, and generally catching up with pals. I’m always up for a chat in the kitchen and the occasional pub quiz !!
What we're looking for:
- Professional (ideally with previous flatsharing experience), 25y/o+
- Clean, tidy, considerate: you're someone who likes your space to feel clean, rather than someone who begrudgingly follows the rota
- Friendly, kind, considerate: we both love a chat, but equally respectful of each other's alone time
- Veggie/vegan: we're both veggies so would like the same
- Non-smoking / drug free home: this isn't a party flat
If this sounds like you, drop us a message with a bit about yourself - we'd love to know what you get up to outside of work and what's important to you in a flatshare.
We're planning viewings on the evenings of 29 June, 1st and 3rd July so let us know what times you can make.
