Sunny quiet double room in Holloway

Hi everyone,

I'm Chris, a 32 year old living in Holloway. My friend Josh and I bought this house during Covid and have finished renovating it recently. He now lives abroad and we rent out the spare room.


About the house:

The house has a new kitchen and bathroom and the lounge and bedroom are renovated. The large south facing terrace is also new but the lower garden will be finished in Spring. Just sorting a carpet/runner for the stairs which is the last thing!

There isn't a desk in the bedroom but it could fit a small one. I’m in the office 5 days most weeks so no problem using the lounge to work. The room comes with a double bed and mattress and has small built in wardrobe.
The flat is a 10 minute walk from Finsbury Park station and the same from Holloway road station. Very easy to get around London and there are rentable bike lockers on the street if you prefer to cycle . There's a Morrisons, Lidl and Waitrose within 5 minutes and the now popular Nag's Head market is 2 mins down the road.

The rent is £975 + ~£200 bills = £1175 total per month. The bills include Council Tax Band E (£103 pp pm) plus fast Broadband, (£10pp), water (£43pp), electricity and gas (avg £50pp). I'm hoping to get that a bit lower by trialling a water meter.

I pay for a cleaner monthly that covers the kitchen, bathroom, hallway and lounge. Thats an extra £20 each and a bit of light cleaning is still needed between visits.
About me:

I'm an easy going, respectful person who can get along with most people. I have my own life and would expect the same of any flatmate. My job keeps me busy in the office during the week with early starts and late finishes so you have the house to yourself most days. At weekends I'm looking to reclaim my social life after a few too many weekends of sanding and painting. My girlfriend lives locally and she'll be round/I'll be at hers once or twice a week.

I'm into all types of music, photography and travelling whenever I can. LGBTQ friendly.

I tend to do my socialising outside of the house but occasionally I'll use the house for small social gatherings (e. g. dinner with a few friends) and you are very welcome to do the same. I ask that any late partying doesn't come back to the house.

I'm flexible on duration of the tenancy but would expect at least 6 months with the option to end earlier if we both agree.
