Description
Short-term double room to rent in a two bed shared flat.
1 minute walk to Highbury & Islington Station
The flat is adequate for two and has suited me well the past three years. My current flat mate is moving out and I am looking for someone new to jump in!
House
The sublet is currently only for one month (Option to discuss)
There is a shared living room with a sofa, TV and dining table, kitchen with washing machine (no dishwasher) and bathroom with bath and standing shower. We are up one flight of stairs from the street door entrance and have only one other flat in the building (above us). There are also three small stairs in the living area leading to the kitchen.
Bills are not included, the rent alone is £700. Energy (gas and electric) can range as we are on a meter and the winter will inevitably be more expensive. Water, wifi and council tax (band C) typically stay the same.
All bills are evenly split two ways and I manage them.
It gets cold! I've been here 3 winters however, and managed it okay. The flat is pretty old and poorly insulated so it is quite draughty and hard to maintain heat which is why I avoid using the heating but we did just get a new boiler.
Room
The room can fit a double bed, drawers and desk and has a series of shelves and rail units on the wall. There are two windows, one with a large window sill which can act as a shelf. The room is without a bed but has a set of 3 drawers (a little wonky), some shelving and hanging clothes rail.
Although unfurnished there may be a possibility to discuss keeping the current bed.
Me
I'm a pretty clean person, and as the space isn't huge I like things to have a place - I would never want this to impede on someone else's preference of lifestyle and living with others can sometimes be hard enough so, unless you are naturally inclined to keep things organised and want to live in a clean environment, please don't respond to this listing.
I've lived here a long time and all of the furnishings are my own and with this in mind it is really important to me that I find someone who is respectful and considerate of their home and belongings. I'm so happy to share but just want to know things will be looked after and appreciated.
I have a varying schedule but am relatively busy/out the house. I usually cook at home in the evenings or try to lol. I like to write and other bits. Sometimes my nieces stay over, they are 6 and under and amazing.

Myself and my current flatmate have got on v well but weren't entirely compatible as friends. It would be nice to share the space with someone that is willing to share interests and engage, someone that would want to hang out from time to time, and creatively enthuse one another, chat! put kettle on! maybe watch a film :o
It would also be cool to share with someone that would also like to contribute to the space be it with plants, prints, kitchen supplies, hoover ( we need a new hoover! ) etc.
Looking for someone who;
identifies as female or non-binary
is respectful and tidy
friendly
interested in *creative* stuff I suppose
I'll be moving out for good in April and it would be nice to meet someone that may want to share together again in a few months time!
It's taken me longer than it should have to write this, it's pretty 2 dimensional which makes it very hard to gauge but hopefully, that's a good overview. Will also take a video of the whole flat in due course which I can provide.
I'll arrange to meet with any successful responses first then go from there :)
