Description
Sadly our subletter is going back to Oz, so we’re looking to find someone to move on in!
We’ll be doing viewings from Nov 30th onwards.
To be super clear from the get go - the room itself is on the small side, but that’s reflected in the extremely affordable price and is balanced by other amenities like being in Zone 2, having a big living room relative to the location, and the two great flatmates you’d be moving in with (🤗).
There is space for a desk, chair and a double bed (all included as per the pics), and it has a fairly spacious built in wardrobe, but is still on the cosy side. It gets great light for most of the day (and a genuinely breathtaking sunset from this side of the flat) and a view onto the street (tree included which is lush in summer). I have loved my time in the room and am hoping to find someone who will also enjoy it!
The flat
Situated on the fourth floor of the building (no elevator, all of our calves are now huge) it is a 3 bed flat with a living room which also has nice light and a view out over the street. There’s the usual trimmings, big TV, and we do the occasional flat dinner at the dining table. We’ve all got pretty full social and professional lives but still try to make time for each other when we can and enjoy each other’s company when we do. There’s an option to apply to the council to store a bike in the gated bike sheds right outside.
It is an older house, the kitchen is on the smaller side but the cost reflects this and we keep it nice and tidy and find it works for us just fine!
The photos are from a while ago (we’ve made the place nicer since) but they best show the space so we have kept them. The layout of the room and the lounge is a little different but we’re always open to a change up.
Housemates:
We’re both professionals in our early thirties.
We like all the usual stuff (movies, food, gigs) and fancy ourselves pretty alright to live with.
Nick works in advertising, and when he’s not on the grind he can be found scoping out the best eats and pints in Islington, or with his lovely GF who lives across the river in South London (they have a bit of a Montague and Capulet thing going on).
Mckenna works in tv/film and can work sporadic hours (all or nothing kind of work which sometimes involves night shoots) and when not sleeping in can be found at the nearest pub gig or reading a book (doomscrolling).
We’re friendly and happy to yarn over a movie, but also like to balance the London hustle & bustle and keep the home chill. No pressure when we all do our own thing, but always up for a beer or a bite. We both work from home some days but not full time, this is negotiated as we go.
The area:
It doesn’t get better than Highbury & I for location. It’s safe, and there are lots of cafes/restaurants/bars/pubs and parks within walking distance. We’re a ten min walk from Highbury fields, and there’s a smaller park garden which comes with a beautiful little church and very friendly squirrels about 2 mins walk from us.
Transport is ideal:
-Ten mins walk to Highbury and Islington station (overground/victoria line/SW). We’re one stop from Kings Cross.
-7 mins walk to Piccadilly Line (either Holloway Road or Caledonian Road)
-Loads of buses
- Human Forest bikes everywhere - 10mins free a day!
Three supermarkets within a ten min walk.
Costs:
The room is £680 plus bills which come to about 150 per month.
If this sounds like a bit of you please get in touch with some info about yourself age/occupation/interests. Please note that we won’t respond if this is not included.
Look forward to meeting you!
