Description
We’re Maeve and Lizzie, two friends looking for a third housemate to make our house a home in Islington.
I (Maeve) have lived here for a few years, and our current housemate is leaving to move in with her boyfriend.
Looking for someone to add to the dynamic, for evenings watching sex and the city on the sofa (ft. wine and cheese), - but who is equally independent and has their own London life.
We both work in sustainability, are active and enjoy the outdoors, and love a nice mix of chill time at home and pub drinks in the evening.
On the hunt for someone to move in July/August, a professional ideally between 28 and 35.
THE FLAT
The flat really is a gem. Big windows, lots of light for our plants, on a quiet residential road in Islington/Canonbury, with a gorgeous roof terrace (one of the only houses on our road that has one).
Our favourite bits:
It’s a two-floor maisonette (three if you count the terrace) which is great for space and means you don’t hear people up late in the living room when you’re in bed.
Separate living room and kitchen (both good sizes) so that cooking smells don’t travel. Also means you never feel on top of each other because there are multiple spaces to be.
The most beautiful street in Islington? Pics will attest
Landlord always comes quickly to fix things
The terrace….what more can I say
Plants to add to the flat are an added bonus!
THE ROOM
*small* double with a wardrobe but no room for a desk
The room is the smallest of the three, which means you pay less rent than us. It’s the quietest room as it’s at the back of the house looking over gardens below.
Although it is small, for the quality of the flat, the area and the proximity to transport, it’s worth it. Would potentially suit someone who doesn’t spend a lot of time in their room and is out more.
THE AREA
Dreamy location tbh - 7 min walk from Highbury and Islington station, which is on the Victoria line and links up to all overground trains which take you to Hackney or down to south London easily. Caledonian Road is also under 10 mins away (piccadilly line) which gets you into Covent Garden in three stops. (Also Limes everywhere round here)
Some of my favourite pubs in London on our doorstep, the Hemingford Arms, the Albion, the Drapers Arms and the Duchess of Kent all 5 min walk away.
Parks - 1 min from the house is a lovely communal garden on Arundel Square. Otherwise there is Highbury Fields for a walk and a croissant from the French cafe, La Maison. Hampstead Heath is a few stops away on the overground.
Please do get in touch telling us a bit about you and when you are free to come and view.
