Description
I rent out 2 rooms in my 4 story spacious townhouse in Islington. I live in the house with my 27 year old nephew. There are now two furnished double rooms available. The rooms are both large, bright, well furnished, and have ample storage.
Room 1 - Upper ground floor, large window overlooking the garden, currently two twin beds, which can be pushed together as a double. There is a large built in cupboard, and desk in the room. This room has exclusive use of a shower, which is in the utility room. The washer and dryer are also in the utility room, so it is used by others, but the room does have a lock. Shared toilet - although there are 2 other toilets in the house, so it is only occasionally used by others.
Room 2 - Fourth floor, attic room, with views over the garden. Double bed, desk, walk in wardrobe, lots more storage, wall mounted TV. This room shares a bathroom directly opposite the bedroom, with one other person - my 27 year old nephew who is very clean and tidy. This is an attic room, with eaves, therefore, while spacious, it would not suit a very tall person.
The house is a large 4 story townhouse, with large rooms and high ceilings (lower ceilings in the attic). As the house is across 4 floors, there are lots of stairs, so it wouldn't suit someone with limited mobility. Lodgers have access to the shared space on the lower ground floor, all stylish large spaces; a beautiful, well equipped kitchen, a dining room, conservatory and stunning 90 foot garden. The garden is a true haven! Lodgers don't have access to the living room.
The house would suit someone was is clean, tidy and considerate. A professional / student who works outside the home during the week. I am a consultant, who works from home, and enjoy a peaceful, clean living space. This is my family home, and while I do have friends, family and neighbours over, I prefer that lodgers do not have overnight guests, and socialise outside the house. Most people who live here enjoy their own space, the house is a peaceful sanctuary. While it isn't a party house, we are friendly!
I have the house on the market at the moment. Which means the estate agent will be bringing prospective buyers round for viewings, and the house / rooms need to be kept tidy at all times. We do have 24 hours notice of viewings. I imagine the sale will take between 6 and 12 months, which is why I have a short term offer. But lodgers could stay until the house in sold.
This is a great area to live. A quiet, friendly, leafy street. There is a fantastic range of local independent shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. There are several large supermarkets around 10 minutes away, as well as smaller supermarkets nearby.
Excellent transport links, 10 minute bus ride to to Kings Cross, Camden or Holloway. 20-30 minute bus ride to the West End. Close to the beautiful open spaces of Hampstead Heath and Regents Park. It is an easy walk to Caledonian Road Tube, Camden Road overground, and Kentish Town tube. Easy routes to the airports. Buses 390, 29, 253, 274, 263 (and more).
There is a secure bike shed in the large front garden, which lodgers are welcome to use if they have their own bicycle.
Washing machine, dryer (to use sparingly in winter), microwave, air fryer, fully equipped, high end kitchen.
Rooms are fully furnished with good quality beds/ mattresses, desk, lots of built in storage, bedside lamps.
All bills and WIFI included.
Single occupancy and females preferred.
Non smokers (in house and garden)
References are required.
