A large, bright double room is becoming available in our ground-floor garden flat, less than five minutes’ walk from Holloway Road station 🙂

THE ROOM

The room has a large bay window and plenty of space. It will come mostly furnished, with all the furniture shown in the photos staying apart from the desk and chair. There is ample room to add your own desk, create a comfortable work-from-home setup or roll out a yoga mat.

THE FLAT

The flat occupies the ground floor of a converted house, with another flatshare upstairs. It has high ceilings, original fireplaces (not in use) and a cosy shared kitchen and living area.

The garden is probably the best part. It has vegetable and flower beds, outdoor seating and gets plenty of sunlight throughout the day. It is a genuinely lovely place to have dinner, read or spend a summer evening 🌿

THE PEOPLE

You’ll be living with Esperanza, 27, who works in global health and is a former biologist. She is also the person behind the garden and somehow manages to keep everything alive.

Louis and I are both moving out, although at slightly different times, so Esperanza is currently looking for two new flatmates.

We’ve always had a friendly and sociable home rather than simply sharing a flat. We occasionally cook or have dinner together, watch films, spend time in the garden and generally enjoy having a chat, while also respecting that everyone has their own routines and needs time to themselves.

We’re looking for someone friendly, considerate and tidy who wants to treat the flat as a home and is open to becoming friends with the people they live with.

I’m posting the ad and coordinating the initial messages and viewings, but Esperanza will meet prospective flatmates and decide who feels like the right fit for the household.

- Rent: £1,325 pcm from October onwards (September rent is £1,500, as the household rent split cannot be adjusted until the second room becomes available)
